So my tang and clowns just suddenly got sick. They were doing fine just a couple days ago and this has happened really suddenly for seemingly no reason. I haven’t added anything to the tank in a month, all fish were quarantined for a month before adding, I quarantined with prazipro and watched very carefully for any sickness.

Everything in this tank has been here for a month so I have no clue where this came from but whatever. It’s a 75 gallon that has been set up for around 5 months, Nitrates are around 5-10 and salinity is 1.027. This is a FOWLR except I have 3 peppermint shrimp in here

I believe I’ve narrowed it down to flukes, brooklynella, or velvet. But I am posting on here just in case any of you have a different diagnosis. I am going to freshwater dip to check for flukes, then it will be narrowed down to velvet or brook. But I’m not sure which one it could be (assuming it’s not flukes) I have many medications handy

Because they're breathing heavy, if youre going to do 5 min FW dip, aerate the water as they are already stressed. I suspect brook (per the clown behavior) or Flukes based on heavy breathing and lethargic behavior but need more history.
Are they eating at all?
When did these symptoms kick in?
What is ammonia and PH level and how are you testing?

First - did you quarantine the fish with copper/prazipro? Second - I was thinking brook, but that doesn't completely explain the tang (though they can get it also). The tang BTW - looks like it's actively dying, unless the video snip I saw was not representative.

Pre-emptively - what do you have access to as treatment options?

Yeah, I tried fw dipping the tang and I didn’t see any flukes, so I think it could be brook.

Yeah the tang is definitely dying unfortunately. They all were actively eating and doing good just last Thursday. I didn’t fully check yesterday so I wouldn’t know. Someone else fed the tank.

And I did not quarantine with copper but I did prazipro. I did observation as well.

Ruby rally pro, prazipro, methylene blue, coppersafe just to name what I think is most appropriate for this situation. I also have antibiotics and some other stuff

You may or may not see flukes. You still did not make mention of symptoms youve observed, if fish eating, parameters, etc

I agree this looks like brooklynella on the clowns and rally pro is the only likely option, but that is a fairly mild medication and doesn’t always work for advanced cases like this.

Actually I did mention if the fish were eating and my parameters. But yes I didn’t say the symptoms, however I thought they would be self explanatory in the video

Yeah I’m mostly hoping to save my clowns who aren’t doing as bad

Im still siding with brook myself. Start with a prolonged 60 minute bath of ruby rally pro then at a lower concentration in a quarantine tank. The longer the fish are exposed to the treatment, the more effective it will be at eliminating this issue.
Since a formalin solution is often not available for immediate use, temporary relief can be achieved by giving the fish a FW bath or dip in water same temperature as display tank. Even though this treatment will not cure the disease, it can help to remove some of the parasites, as well as reduce the amount of mucus in the gills to assist with respiration problems.
Treatment is best done in a QT tank using either quick cure (more effective but now harder to find) or Ruby Rally Pro. Ruby takes a little longer and initial treatment generally takes 2-3 days to really start going to work.
With the advanced stage of this- I recommend immediate quarantine of all inhabitants and leaving display without fish for 4-6 weeks.

Ok, what do you guys think about a fw dip, then a ruby rally pro dip right after that before adding the fish to a quarantine. Do you think that would overwhelm the fish?

Also I ordered some 37% formalin that gets here Thursday but I don’t think it will get here in time to do anything, I mostly ordered it for the future

FW dip often offers only temporary relief but not always. I mentioned bath with aeration which can be of benefit. No need for Formalin if using Ruby Rally but if you switch, change water and with formalin, be careful on dosage
