Finished ply??? That looks good with Al tslot
It’s actually edge joined pine panels from Home Depot. Lots of sanding and many coats of polyurethane so far it’s held up well. This is my third stand using edge joined soft wood panels.

Here is mine. 48x20x33 aluminum frame from Framingtech. DIY wood panels stains and glazed with General Finishes grey gel stain and pitch black glaze as well as sealed with their High performance top coat. Inside sealed with killz sealer and primer Then semi gloss white paint.
top board was treated on the edges with the same process as the panels. And I have a aqua gadget self leveling mat on top. Stand will hold a 100 gallon starphire internal overflow euro braced aquarium from SC Aquariums.

Yes it is 3inch on top and 1.5 supports. It’s a package that framingtech.com offers under there aquarium stand section of options for their product. Total for this was about $800 I believe or a little under I don’t remember. I originally built a standard 2x4 stand as well but ultimately did not like it aNd I don’t trust my leveling skills with shims i alread has a busted tank do to that so I decided to go the better route. This aluminum stand comes with leveling feet that lock in place so I do not have to worry about it slipping out place eventually.
