When designing my aquascape, I decided to go with 2 seperate Islands with tons of caves under the rockwork and open spaces for the fish.

Here is mine (312g cube 5'x5'x20"). Its actually 5 seperate rock islands with channels going through. Each channel is positioned so either an mp40 or the seaswirls will push water through the channels to the front of the tank

Thank you for posting these pictures - tanks look great. And I am finding inspiration for my new 270 Gal.+/- (75x30x28) coming in a month or so. Never aqua-scaped a tank of this size, so very helpful to see precedents.
