Mr. Overachiever put us to shame here. You were the guy raising his hand at the end of class weren’t you?

Totally joking man. That is the best when you put in the effort and it shows. Great job.

Here’s my 500 gallon 72x54x30 before it was filled. The rockwork on both sides sits on top of a PVC skeleton and is hollow underneath. I need to get an updated pic.

I would love to see an updated picture of your tank! I love how your aquascape has a very natural look to it

I finally finished off the left side … moving a couple of rocks from my 100g to the left but this is mostly done.
im so jelous of that tank. thats exactly what i want. a really long but not really wide, tank just like that. would give more room for rish to swim and more room for corals. ugh im envious.

thanks.. I have been dreaming of an 8 footer with more depth that height.. I found the listing on craigslist Jan of this year and it took me a while to set it up.. added just water and such in June and now finally just moving things over from the smaller tank.. it's super nice to see the sailfin and foxface have tons of swimming room now..

yeah long, but not too high so you can reach stuff.. but the 30 width is super nice too.. loads of room. I got this one at a fraction of MSRP.. had been hunting for two years.. keep on the lookout, you'll find one eventually.

i actually looked up that company, it appears the acrylic versions are just empty tanks, they dont have overflows and plumbing? only the deluxe? but even those dont come with stands. hmmm. but i do love the size. you def got lucky.

It’s a custom tank. 5/8s acrylic. With a custom home made stand... the clear for life is in my sig is the old one. Yeah the dimensions were too good to pass up. Cheers and happy reefing!

I always love seeing these kinds of progress post. From some rock in a tank. Into a reef that is beaming with life

I played with it for a while but they are actually all individual pieces.

I didn't glue them so I could easily access any area for cleaning or any coral placement.

I've had to move a few pieces as the torches grew in the front and needed to be on the ground due to height, but for the most part its still the same.

The sad and happy part is, we lose the look of the aquascape to coral once they start growing, it's a catch 22 ;)
