So, water testing my 170, filled the overflow box up and I have 2 small drips (1 from the return pipe & 1 from the main drain).

How do you seal this thing up? I tried not to over tighten. I even added teflon tape to the main drain (it was leaking yesterday during my first attempt to hook it all up).

What is the secret? The videos online make it look so easy!
Did you tighten the lines till you heard the "CLICK" if you didn't they aren't tight enough. Tape isn't needed on these connectors. The O-rings do the job. If you used Tape remove it. The tape could be causing your leaks. (this is all assuming you are using totally stock plumbing) The video below might help you. It doesn't mention the click of the ratchetting on the lines but the assembly manual hints at it in a picture.

I would replace the o-rings just for piece of mind.

I'm getting some coarline growing on the return intake openings. It's starting to make them smaller over time. Since that box is plastic what's the best way to scrape the coraline off to widen the openings back to stock? Without messing up the plastic of course.

Just remove them and dip in vinegar for an 1 hour and they will become like new.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a return pump going on to a new RSR 650 peninsula. The recommended GPH is 1800.

Any one with a Red Sea Reefer 350 have trouble with pipes leaking? Mine started, out of the blue, a few days ago. The leak seems to be above the flow control knob. I have ordered new o rings but am not sure that is the problem. Tank has been set up for 4 years with original plumbing and I haven't messed with plumbing since. Thanks for any help and information you can give me.

@kodo28 I forgot how to remove them. Tried and tried but couldn't get them off. I'll try to find a YouTube video how to do it.

You can see on this video at 2:15mm

If they are covered with coraline it can be hard to get them out but slowly the coraline will crack and then they come off. Don't push to hard take your time.
If you have really much coraline building up on the overflow.
Maybe is a good idea to get a replacement kit Comb Set. Red Sea Part # 42189 ( it cost only 8$ ) so you can change it when the other combo is on vinegar over night.

Hi all,

I have a RSR350, the older version and not the V3 version sump.

Looking to add the clarisea filter.

Firstly, can the drain pipe of the tank fit nicely into the inlet of the clarisea filter or do I need to mod the drain pipe of the tank. Secondly, can I cut the baffle of the filter socks without removing all the water in the sump? Thirdly, any easy way to drain the water in the overflow box without all the water splashing down when I remove the piping.

Thanks!

Look at my post a few pages back. I added a Clarisea to my 350. I didn't modify the sump, just simply barb from the main drain and soft tube to my inlet of the Clarisea.

Yep I saw your post. However space is limited in the sump, I have a Nyos160 and a zeovit reactor in there, no space for the clarisea. Hence I gotta remove the filter socks area.

3 blown out 750XXLs on the Red Sea facebook group.. they are in the 13-18mo time frame. 2 are separate posts 1 is a reply to the most recent post. That's not good.

I agree it’s not good, but who knows why it happened and if there was any user error involved. Not level, rocks fell, etc. Maybe none of that was the case and it was a defective tank, but if so what percentage of the 750s is that?

I gotta be 100% honest any percentage of a 200 gallon tank blowing out is to much. Just shouldn't happen ever.

That’s just unrealistic. There is no product in the world that doesn’t have flaws or faults and there is no tank manufacturer that can guarantee that they’ve never had a tank blowout ever. It happens it sucks when it happens but it happens
