Should I lower these primes?

Hey everyone,

I plan on stocking an IM 25 Lagoon with SPS. Dimensions are 24x19x12H if I remember correctly.

I got 2 AI prime 16 HDs mounted on 18" goosenecks. They're currently sitting about 13" above the water surface.

Would it be better to have them closer to the surface for higher PAR? Maybe using the 12" goosenecks instead, or maybe even the fixed mounts?

I saw a BRS investigates saying at 14" I'm looking at about 230 avg. PAR. Would that be enough for most SPS?

My AI is 9" inches from the water, I wanted no light spill. I don't know why anyone would put them 14" above the water...

230 par should be ok for most sps, its borderline IMO, some will be ok

230 is avg so there are going to be areas with higher than that, also I'm not sure if they're measuring par at the surface or at the bottom of the tank.

But yes I feel like I can get too much spillage at that height, and if I lowered it I would also get some better PAR.

I'm going to look into getting some different mounts today
