Yes I did plan it in great detail, when I built it all, I did everything apart from the actual tank/sump and stand so I would now how everything works.

There’s very little maintenance these days, apart from cleaning the skimmer every 3 months like above!! Lol

Remember there are 2 tanks here as well, not just the very big one, there’s the ‘baby’ S650 as well

I was hoping you were going to post more pics of your trip to where the rain falls mainly on the plain.

Ive been hanging my nose over the Flipper Platinum long handled scraper for ages, but held off because of the price of £28 (yes I am tight sometimes!). It’s used to clean the rear glass in the tank mainly.

Ive been using a metal one which uses a replaceable razor blades which works quite well, but I had high hopes for the Flipper. I use Flipper Max’s in both tanks for the glass and there very good.

Anyway, I can honestly say, it rubbish and just doesn’t work. The plastic blade doesn’t even touch coraline algae. I think it really needs a steel blade to be effective, probably similar to the Max scrapper blades. Very disappointing.

I would have sent it back, but I buy lots from the shop and didn’t want to cause an issue and of course it had been used.

I exercised some self-control. Ok, ok, all the self-control I could muster. It doesn’t happen often. Maybe a couple of times a year just to make sure I still have a little. Today is one of those days!

Ive been away to the Cotswolds for a few days in my caravan, and when I got back it was time to
finish off a little lawn maintenance.

Its quiet a large area, so I treated it and scarified it, and then it really needed spiking for some aeration as there was lots of moss in it.

I have a spiker I purchased a few weeks ago and although its about the best I could find, short of an attachment for my tractor, its back breaking work because of the size of the lawn’s front and back.

Anyway having thought about various options, and as the design is now patent protected, here you have the semi automatic, fully adjustable spiking machine!

And yes, you will simply marvel at the design and engineering put into this

Its fully adjustable to suit individual soil compaction and can be fine tuned to provide precise spiking performance…..

I would suggest changing the handle to a harness that is suitable for a certain labrador to start earning his keep!
