I love lps, torches are my favorite , you can probly get store credit at your lfs when you start to frag them

My fav are acans... I just love them :D the whole reason behind a frag tank is to start growing out acans for my next build in my new apartment when I begin my intern.... believe me my LFS I wouldnt bother trying to get store credit :p I drive 3 hours to Rochester to buy corals haha

Well I was looking into buying a few frags from the forums and different shops in order to grow them out. After 10 months of growing I would save the ones I want then frag the rest. After about a month or so to regrow/heal and encrust I'd then post them online to sell or give a few away to people just starting out  figured the extra bit of money could be spent on salt or something

Out of all the euphyllia , torch corals have the worst sting , you can't put them next to other euphyllia, this is the next hammer on my list

Thanks @Jakepen !

Can I get second opinion on this before I start cranking the intensity up (gradually) to 90%?

Anyone welcome to chime in.

If you have experienced with 2 foot cube and Kessil A360WE light would even be better!

#reefsquad @Mattyice008

PS: This Kessil A360WE has been the one and only lighting for the tank since it's establishment date, which approximately 4 years back.

I don't have PAR meter and don't intend to purchase one for this matter; am sure plenty folks out there have similar scenario: Kessil A360WE, 2 foot cube, LPS.
if flow and parameters are good. Spot feeding too. A lux meter is $16 or so. Divide lux by 60 to get an approximate of par. 6000 lux is 100 par. so you can raise in increments.

This is the reason why I went Carbon ... I used to have a very high No3 level ... approx at 80 ppm or more.

At that time I was so diligent with my husbandry, I did 50% WC every 2 - 3 days; one would assume that No3 will be down but naah ... they stay high.

Checked the RODI water, 0 ppm of No3 .... mixed with salt, checked again ... 0 ppm of No3 ...
Mixed it up ... do several times .... 80 ppm .. *** !
something was leeching No3 ... don't know what ..
went Carbon and put more Siporax in the sump .. BOOM .. it drop to 40 ppm ... gradually then 20 ppm .. along with WC.

Okay 2 clowns and 1 - 2 frozen shrimp cubes .. that's a LOT ! what's your tank capacity?
It sounds like your trying to add and subtract at the same time. I dont watch my numbers that closely. a tank(pet human etc) fluctuates gently over the course of the weeks and months. really Ive never seen a "spike". slow ups and downs yes, and imo that is stable.

set the digestion(export) and feed to that. find that balance. if it feels like its eating too much despite the amount, slowly remove one of the exports.

Check your lighting, I never specifically feed my hammer, frogspawn, or torch I've had all three about a year at this point and bought them all as frags, hammer went from 3 to 14 head, frogspawn went from 2 heads to Atleast 12 and torch was the slowest at 2 to 8 heads in a year, also my tank was started with uncured pukani which has lead to hair algae issues but I almost attribute their growth to the water conditions too hard to know though

I am a LAZY reef keeper. I will admit that. I do a 15 gallon wc eveyr 5 or 6 weeks (goal was monthly). I feed mostly frozen to keep my clownfish laying eggs. I have a 66 gallon tank with a 40 breeder sump. My nitrates are in the 10 range and my phosphate was .25 when i checked it on Sunday. I had a reeef radiance lumentek Pro 240 that I ran at 75% blue and 40 % white for 10 hours daily. I now have a Radion and I am running it at 90% brightness on the AB+ program. my LPS love it. NOtice the Hammer on the left. and the Frogspawn on the right.

Looks great man. I also do water changes monthly. I have a too clean system and have been trying to raise my nitrates to ~5 so I can finally (tank is 8 months old) put coral in. All parameters are in check with the exception of no nitrates.

This sounds interesting to try. It's only $ 16 that you have to spend.

That division between 60, is to obtain an approximate PAR at what depth?

Which Lux meter do you recommend, or which do you use?

Any depth under led, assuming a basic 14 to 20k spectrum. each light has a different par value. including the Sun. so depth is irrelovant.
http://www.apogeeinstruments.com/conversion-ppf-to-lux/

T5, Led, the sun, different MH bulbs all have a different conversion number. Afet a long time researching I found that 60 is the closest for all led so far.

Mine Is similar to this one. It will let you test higher light levels. https://www.amazon.com/Trendbox-Lux...UTF8&qid=1491844950&sr=8-8&keywords=lux+meter

Milwaukee makes one that can be used under water.
https://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-In...491845031&sr=8-1&keywords=milwaukee+lux+meter

I only test the top of the tank and estimate the bottom. If you can test the bottom, you'll want about 100 PAR or more generally.
