I agree ,I think you tank may be to clean it needs more nutrients in the water, I've had this colony for about 6 months and it's splitting everywhere. I spot feed occasionally.

I am dosing NoPox though to compensate with the feeding .. I guess I have to if I want to heavy feed .. no ?

I by far feed a lot more then anyone should with two fish haha

no idea... never bother to test it... my neon duncan has 5 heads growing off the side in 2 weeks of adding it to the tank and my frogspawn went from the size of a clementine to about the size of a soft ball maybe a lil bigger in 2 months :\

way I look at it... if my stuff is growing I'm a keep doing what I'm doing haha

Nah for sure, bud ... I thought you may have the No3 level handy; am just curious, that's all.

For an example I feed pellets daily 1-2 times plus at night I'll feed 1-2 frozen shrimp cubes... I have 2 clowns (I refuse to put anything else because they have paired up and the female is extremely aggressive.. to a point it will jump out of the tank during feeding as it attacks your hand when you put it above the water) and in the sump is a damsel and a brittle star...

Feed heavy and do partial water changes to keep it from getting too high

This is the reason why I went Carbon ... I used to have a very high No3 level ... approx at 80 ppm or more.

At that time I was so diligent with my husbandry, I did 50% WC every 2 - 3 days; one would assume that No3 will be down but naah ... they stay high.

Checked the RODI water, 0 ppm of No3 .... mixed with salt, checked again ... 0 ppm of No3 ...
Mixed it up ... do several times .... 80 ppm .. *** !
something was leeching No3 ... don't know what ..
went Carbon and put more Siporax in the sump .. BOOM .. it drop to 40 ppm ... gradually then 20 ppm .. along with WC.

Okay 2 clowns and 1 - 2 frozen shrimp cubes .. that's a LOT ! what's your tank capacity?

yeah I do weekly water changes and monthly carbon changes.... I do see a lot of algae growth but my snails love it plus they keep it cleaned up pretty well and gets my shrimp out of his cave once in awhile haha

The live rock is probly the culprit or the sand bed if you have any

Yeah that's in the past now .. so what I've gathered now after few back and forth ... so you're concluding it may have been the lack of feeding (nutrients) in the tank as opposed to the lighting.

I know that my LPSs get swollen big when direct sunlight hits em ..

The one thing I've learned in this hobby is , stability is key, I do monthly water changes but I skim heavy, my tank has no problems with alge or anything

Not feeding fish in peticular but not having things like plankton , copepods, other live foods ect. In the water , corals don't eat fish waste ,most of them are filter feeders

the entire underneath of that thing is little heads... I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it... Thinking about letting it get crazy big and wild. I'm setting up a pretty decent sized frag tank over the summer so maybe ill just have to chop it up...

All the rainbow hammers I've ever seen were all wall type ,I like the branching ones better too ,this will be mine soon and I can't wait for it to arrive
