Got the Hygger off and ready to return. Think I’m just gonna stick to the eheim for now. It’s a good pump.
In other news on removing the pump I noticed a small leak/salt creep from the uv union. Cleaned up and tightened it a little. Hopefully did the trick.
Siphoned off the remaining sand with Dinos on it with a one bucket wc last night. I won’t be doing my weekly 2 bucket wc this week due to a busy weekend so we can just count the small one from last night :) Will see if that finishes them off.

Adjusted alk yesterday due to slow drift down with afr. Added 1/2 tsp of sodium bicarbonate, got me up to 8.1 from 7.7 Plan to stick with 27.5 ml AFR over the weekend and see how it goes.

Got two new corals yesterday. Hopefully they are looking good when I get home from work tonight.
My other corals are looking really great currently. Hopeful to get Dinos eradicated soon so I can start spot coral feeding and dosing some aminos. Bought benepets and it’s ready to go. Probably go with acropower for my aminos.
Love the conchs… clean the sand bed and they start doing this lol!

Does the conch bull doze things? I need to get something to clean my sand bed.

Conch is great. I have two tiger conchs. They only go on the sand, so as long as it’s not on the sand or easy to tip you should be good. For larger sand bed corals like plates, trachy, Scoly etc. I don’t think they’d cause any trouble but I don’t have any of that…yet.
I have gotten in the habit of glueing the coral to the rocks the first day though… I’ve lost more corals in my life to the sand bed than any other single reason. I also like my bulldozer turbo snails. They’re keeping me hairy algae free thus far. And I do have a little I introduced accidentally on the first acan. They keep it nicely mowed to where I can’t even see it, unless they miss a spot.

Can really tell the corals poofed up after benepets one time. Impressive. Definitely popped a sanded algae bloom, I was thinking I had this almost controlled before I fed.
I’m gonna do a significant sandbed clean up crew add this week to try and get this sand sparkling with less work.
Thinking another conch maybe 2 depending on size, some larger nassarius, and more hermit crabs (wanting scarlets). Also gonna dose Mag the next few days. Keeping the dKH ok with AFR @25ml a day. But I’m seeing a drop in Mag that’s imbalanced, definitely seeing some happy corals and think I’m seeing some calcareous algae growth.

So here’s this picture of a thing I thought was a snail at first and then convinced myself it was a polyp of some kind. I removed the coral, I could not find anything to remove from the drag disk.
Tonight I was using my flashlight a bit to observe inverts, and there it was a baby red banded trochus snail. Needless to say I’m a proud snail breeder lol :)

On another note I think I’m sticking with TMPro salt because it seems to work great for me and my mixing bucket is spotless after my first 300 gallons of it. Downside is it’s about the most expensive salt. Tears cried, will be buying another bucket this week.

I have been really happy with the nyos pure I have used. Not done with my first bucket yet. But parameters are spot on and my bucket is clean too after mixing fsw. But isn't the most economical option either. All my lfs swear by red sea blue buckets.

On another note, what di resin do you use? I need to replace my depleted spectrapure cartridges. Just don't feel like spending nearly $50 per cartridge right now....

Maybe controversial… but I don’t use a di resin currently. There is an empty chamber where that would normally go. I have around 20tds going in from tap and 0 coming out of my RO.
I saw the nyos advertised recently. I will do a shopping comparison before I buy.

Dang. Can't complaint about 0 out of membrane! That's pretty impressive! I wouldn't spend the money on DI resin if I were you either! Lol

My Halloween hermit is finally moving around! And I keep finding more baby trochus snails. There are at least two in the last pic. Wondering how many we have :)

I am considera similar WB tank. How have set up all the wires and stuff in your sump?
It’s a big mess of wires under and behind the tank. Needs work. Currently planning a cabinet next to stand for a control board. The aluminum stand/ no wood is great but takes some creativity and planning to organize because you can’t just put a screw into it to mount something. I’ve been more focused on the display.

@rzimm33 has done a good job with wire organization under his tank with the same stand as me. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/journey-into-reefing-waterbox-infinia-reef-150-4.1050559/

I found a vintage furniture piece that wifey approved on FB for tank-side. It’s not cheap but I like the style and it has a solid finished back that i plan to mount controllers too. Front side will be for storage. I’ll probably cut a whole in it “gasp” to run wires in. I think this will be nicer to it than screwing into beautifully finished walnut.
Going to check it out tomorrow after work.
Got a bucket of salt and more inverts today. Added a new aquacultured torch I’ve been begging LFS to frag.
Need more AFR. Planning to start mixing myself.
What do y’all think of the cabinet? Sizing is decent but easy to work around too.
