I'm dumb!!
Ordered the wrong size connections for this unit, they need to go back to BRS.
I think I'm going to drive down to BRS in the morning and swap them out for the correct ones...maybe a tour of the place is in order??

It's happening!!
RO/DI is hooked up, running and making water. YaY!!
I have pretty darn low pressure at my house so a booster pump is needed ASAP.
So happy things are moving forward. Tomorrow i throw in the heater, salt, rock, bio spira and dr tims ammonium chloride to start cycling this beast

So water is made, rocks, salt and heater are in, return pump is mixing. And I found a booster pump used I'll be picking up on Monday!! When I get home from my daughter's skiing lessons I will be adding bio spira and Dr Tim's ammonium chloride to start the cycle. Red Sea test kit should be here today as well... Things are happening!!

LOL yes the obligatory operation hurry up and wait has commenced.
Currently doing an ammonia test to see if I have any testable ammonia.
I added Bio Spira and Dr Tim's ammonia 15hrs ago.

I just picked up a used booster pump for my RO/DI system, I now have 82 PSI. YaY!!
Still watching the initial cycle in my brute can, all is well so far.
I also hooked up the apex to the brute can trying to minimize any possible issues when I'm away from home.

Yes that's what they say.
Like you say still best practice is to wait for a higher pod pop before introducing one.
From what I've read they will eat frozen but will snack on pods all day, if you don't have those pods for them you may have to feed them more to make up for it.
They're such cool fish.

Thanks me too.
Testing showed I've cycled already, so for good measure I dosed 2 ppm ammonia and will check tomorrow to make sure it goes to 0 then test nitrites and nitrates. Will possibly do a water change depending on the amount of nitrates.

Yeah I sure hope so. Just need to prep the area where the tank is going. I also need to build a stand for my daughter's tank as well. So much to do.

I use to run an industrial gluing machine, making panels that were made into cabinets for menards, ashley furniture etc.
I have a bunch of panels and wood laying around to build or at least skin a stand for her. It will be EPIC, lots of pics when I build it.
Google "wood fuming" for an example of what I'll be doing.

Here's an example of what i may be using for her stand.
First is a test piece I made to see if it's what I want.
Second is finished test piece...Fumed White Oak then rubbed in boiled linseed oil after an overnight dry I used shellac to seal it.
