I think in your build thread we talked about eurobracing the bottom of the tank. That still is an option, even with your center internal overflow. But if you can get a new tank for a decent price, it would be less hassle.

Yea. They still sell tanks but the prices are about 30-40% higher and less options.
Ah my bad!
^Thank you! I have been following SC Aquariums for years, and I am fully planning on purchasing a tank during the expected Black Friday sale. I looked at "my tank" just this morning, and same price.Prices are not up. It selects Professional Install. If you click on No Install the price is what it was last week. They are now giving 3 options instead of 1
With respect, I love Glass Cages tanks, I've spoken by email with Joe and his son Silas, and I believe they make a premium product at a fair price, with, in my opinion, fair freight shipping as compared to other tank builders. I absolutely recommend them, and aspire to own one of their tanks. But there's no way that a comparable, Chinese made SC Aquarium tank would be even near the cost of a Glass Cages tank. I am a budget reefer, I am OK with the budget tank, but if you're looking for a premium option, Glass Cages seems hard to beat.Ah my bad!
Is this new website up and running for you? It's still down for me, just a minute ago......But that is one weird looking website.
SC no longer has the 90 and the prices are double what they were when I got mine. This makes them no longer an option. I was willing to give them a chance because their prices were the most reasonable but I would go for a much better build at the same price.^Thank you! Admittedly, this evening when I saw some of the recent replies to this thread, I was shocked to see the SC Aquariums website down. I have to believe this is a temporary thing.

EDIT: and you know that SC Aquariums ships for free to commercial addresses, and just an additional $55 for residential delivery. I've spoken to Steve from SC Aquariums previously and again recently, and for that $55 the truck driver will get the tank off the truck, and up your driveway and even into you garage (after that, it's on you). Not a bad deal at all, for us "mere mortal" reefers.

Thank you! I'm on a Linux based computer today, so sometimes websites don't work well for me, but it's entirely the fault of my operating system. I'll try again from a Windows computer or my mobile devices. The website is being redirected to Empire USA. The website appears better on my iPhone and on my PC
Can you please post a link to the new website? This is not working for me on any of my devices. The website is being redirected to Empire USA. The website appears better on my iPhone and then on my PC
I think we are going to go glass cages. My wife and i are small people and dont really want a 24” tall tank. We were looking at the 60x24x24 150 gallon for 1400ish from sc. from joe we are looking at a 60x28x20 145 gallon for 2100 ish shipped. Its a difference of 700 dollars roughly which for us, blue collar workers in our early thirties with kids and having just begun building our first home… it is a bit. With respect, I love Glass Cages tanks, I've spoken by email with Joe and his son Silas, and I believe they make a premium product at a fair price, with, in my opinion, fair freight shipping as compared to other tank builders. I get that! I had really wanted a Glass Cages Aquariums ACRYLIC tank because it's just my wife and I who could move this tank into my house, and I didn't feel we could handle a large (over 80 gallon) glass tank (acrylic is much lighter). But, for the cost difference, I can get the SC Aquariums tank with the dimensions I really want, have it delivered to my garage, and then pay a few of the neighborhood teenagers a few bucks each to help us bring the tank in to the house.I think we are going to go glass cages. That being said, i might have a buyer interested in an old fly rod that could more than cover that difference. So if he buys, we are absolutely going custom with glass cages and not wetting our armpits anymore.
Is this this the SC Aquariums website now??The website is being redirected to Empire USA. The website appears better on my iPhone and then on my PC
I mean, I have been looking at SC Aquariums for years, and now I've got the money and want to order one of their 150's, I've just been waiting for the typical Back Friday sale. This is from them earlier today. Sounds like they still offer the peninsula 150. Not sure about the black friday sale though.
“We are merging SC Aquariums with our main corporation Empire USA, the website should be merged by the end of this week. ”
The pricing is NOT worth it if this 90 I own is the quality they are known for. It was a great price when I got it and that made it easy to over look the quality. Move on. It's clear they want to sell all sorts of things and not focus on aquariums.I mean, I have been looking at SC Aquariums for years, and now I've got the money and want to order one of their 150's, I've just been waiting for the typical Back Friday sale.
Again, I've already been building and buying equipment. I will be so upset if SC Aquariums changed their pricing or availability.

Huh, i put all that in for a 90 gallon and even with a low iron front, overflow box you are looking at a bit over 800. I am sure shipping would be even less than mine so maybe youd be looking at 1200? Plus you would have the ability to customize quite a bit if you dont want to do exactly the 48x18x24. Can you tell me what you put in for the quote? Because I am getting double that just for a 90 gallon. I plug into their little calculator what a standard 90 would be 48 x 18x 24 and get this crazy quote of like 2800.
