I would imagine you can just break a piece off and it will heal over. All I know is that both of my Montis broke into a couple of pieces while pulling off plug but I just kind of glued them back together and it was healed back into one pretty quick.

a dremel with a diamond disk works really well for cutting montis off plugs. really clean cut

Yup, one of my favorite movies growing up. Wish they'd make a remake also!

It was a film that was beloved, but just campy enough that a decent remake with better effects wouldn't harm the original. There are definitely things that should not be redone, Ghost Busters was something best left alone, Indiana Jones, etc. But neverending story was edge pop culture with just enough of a B film vibe that it wouldn't hurt to revisit it with a new production.
