it's more of a chemical than a bacteria... i've used it recently and it helps keep things clean for a little bit (mainly glass)... but definately follow directions, don't overdose, and don't use constantly. (i.e. - you don't need it)

I haven't tried a CSB yet but have 3 other types of BTAs. It's hard for me to put that much into one critter.
