Wife left to work, anxiety levels significantly reduced, the package is safe to be delivered.

Is there any standard operating procedures on shipped coral? I never acclimate anything, plop and drop only. Was thinking of cutting my peak light down 20% but i imagine Shane slams them with more par than i do. Recommendations?

Also, if you dont hear from me by this evening, the wife found the invoice and im burried outback.

Good luck your starting well. Watch the packing peanuts. Dead giveaway. Also put your new sticker up to distract her. Always dip . Fair warning given. It may not be bugs but bacteria...place corals lower and in a corner for a little while on rack. Also I didn't see another Indo box so you will be more alive than me I'm sure.

A new batch was 6 alk? Or when you say “drop” are you saying it started at like 8 and then dropped to 6 after mixing for a couple days?
I’m not exactly sure. I am a lazy reefer, and try and stay as low tech as I can only adding when I absolutely have to, and I also don’t test as much as I probably should.

What I noticed was switching to AF after a few water changes my acros were closing up and the coraline growth slowed. Tested alk and it was at 6.

I was using reef crystals for ages while dosing kalkwasser in my ato using the “high demand” ratio on the container from BRS. That’s all I do, and with that my tank always would test somewhere in the range of high 7s to low 8s and things were open.

Basically, a drop to 6 I didn’t want to mess with and figure out a new kalkwasser ratio or god forbid add more equipment or dosers or additives. Swapped back to reef crystals and things are open again and alk is back to where it was before. And I can go blissfully by while doing next to nothing.

Would things maybe have eventually adjusted? Maybe? But AF was on sale when I got it. Reef crystals is always quite affordable. So no use messing with something that works for me and keeps my maintenance to “are acro polyps out and fully extended?” Yes? Sit back and enjoy!

What? Your wife is installing a new concrete patio this evening? Wow that's sudden.

Always dip, Shane will even say that with his corals. Most of us here prefer KCl, potassium chloride 1 tablespoon foer 1 gallon of Saltwater.

Float bags to bring them to temp, dip, plop. I don't adjust my lights.

Standard procedure for all new coral: Let the float to temp for 30-45 minutes. Dip in coral dip....inspect all frags for any pests or eggs extremely thoroughly. Rinse in container with tank water..add to tank. Discard bag/delivered water. As long as par isn't 450+ acros will be fine unless you bought shaded pieces...anywhere 275-350 is dandy

Copy thanks for the recommendations. I always dip and intend to, omitted that piece as its a requirement. I just typically dont do the whole floating/drip acclimation/frag rack/rock work process. I recently started dosing potassium as i was alarmingly low, i didnt realize AFR did not have K.

I did not know it makes a good dip though. Shall look into that as I have 5lbs and i use 3 grams here and there.

Hmmm wonder if there is a DIY fix for it
The round plate that has the little tiny nub that clips onto the 3 holes of the magnet base wear off or broke,, so I used super glue gel and glue everything. works like a charm. It's not like i don't have enough glue

Season 2 Shut Up GIF by Paramount+

During shipping we are going to run 2 things

1) we will do an unboxing contest for a $250 Gift card.

The rules are simple you need to do a video unboxing of the corals. This video will become part of a video serios testimonial on our website. In order to enter the video has to be a utube video. Has to state your name and show your face at the beginning. You will basically show a video of the unboxing receiving the corals in bags, the show them in your tank ect. Tag us here so we don’t miss it. Each entry will give you a chance at a win spin for the $250 gift card

2) we are doing a random sticker prize reveal. Every order will get a free sticker. and 5 lucky winners will have a number written on the sticker. It can be number 1-5. Whoever gets 1 will get prize 1 and be able to pick the prize 1st. and 2 gets 2nd ect all the way up to 5. So the winner will get a sticker with a number on it which will become your tank for picking one of the 5 prizes. As you get the sticker you need to tag us here and show your sticker number. We will reveal the prized later in this thread once all boxed are received.

Good luck everybody and we can’t wait to see what you get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning! Need cleaning techniques for my MP40s. I clean the algae off with a stiff brush weekly. They have been running perfect for almost 2 years, but the coraline is really building up on them. What’s the best way to remove/desolve the coraline on the wet side?
