To an extent, there are many angles to this, every generation of Parents want things better for their children. I know my grandfather and father wouldn't want me to slave away 6 or 7 days a week 10+ hour shifts.

The flip side, generations are getting lazier, look at technology and automation. Look at the number of people that don't do their own lawn care, or prepare their own meals.

There's a balance IMO

There definitely those who take advantage.

Values are important to instill.
At work you should take pride in what you do no matter what it is. People shouldn't HAVE to ask you for help if the situation is relevant. Be a person of your word and follow through with your commitments. Accountability and punctuality are things I see as major issues these days...More so than I used to see. Too many unexperienced people feel "entitled" when they start somewhere.

I would say most of it depends on how you were raised.

It does play role but there is also nature vs nurture here. People raised in great home turned out bad and people that had a crappy upbringing turned out as doctors and lawyers and such.

Mine did the same after two weeks in the same spot. Climbed all over a couple chalices but luckily I don't think they got stung
