There is a frag swap this Saturday about 45 minutes away from me. I wonder if our friend @TankCandy will be there. I’m really considering going to see what’s available.

I’ve been to freshwater fish swaps before and I know you can find the harder to get and more unique species there. Are coral frag swaps the same?
My experience has been good with them. I have been to 2. One here in Memphis and the other is Nashville. Both were part of the Midwest Frag Swap tour but were 6 months apart. Each had 8-10 vendors/sellers. We try to buy something from everyone in appreciation for them attending the show.

You can find all sorts of things from high end named SPS/zoas/torches to the basics. Pricing is all over the place so pick and choose what you want and decide what you are willing to pay. Most vendors will haggle, especially if you are buying multiple pieces or if it is later in the day. You can take your time to look over the items and sometimes there are multiples available and first come first serve gets their choice.

Jason Fox was at the Nashville show and I picked up a Home Wrecker frag. Was a 1" frag at a premium price (got lower at the end of the day) but there was no denying that it was the JF HW since it was bagged directly by him.

I also picked up a 5" indophylia for $125 and a 2 inch acanthophylia for $40 as I was looking for meat corals at the time.

I would say that if you have the time then stop by. Maybe you find something you like, maybe not.
