so it was replacing the rodi stuff
Shane thinks a combination of fixing the RO/DI system and changing to the potassium chloride for dipping. I was probably burning them during acclimation And then the less than perfect water never let the recover.

Did your acros RTN or was it a gradual down slide?

I’m not necessarily the best comparison because I am still new and have a young tank and only moderate success with acros so far, but I also have been dipping with coral RX. The first 2 orders from SBB I dipped in coral RX and the last 2 I didn’t dip at all. I was going pretty hard on the dip too. I was probably putting a capful to 1-2 cups of water. Now I’ve lost several acros over the past few months but I’ve only had a couple RTN and that was after not dipping. The ones that got a potent dip of Coral RX didn’t RTN and looked great for a few weeks and slowly died due to my inexperience and young tank. Just to be clear, I’m not saying that Coral RX was beneficial obviously I’m just saying that In my experience it doesn’t seem like the Coral RX was causing the acros to RTN FWIW.

Still all of this talk has convinced me to switch dips just to be safe.

I had one coral that RTN within a week or so of going in the tank. The rest of them were a gradual slow death. They would gradually lose their color, no polyp extension, start getting algae growing on them and then go dark.

Since it’s only been two days in the tank for these new one, I can’t say for certain we have fixed the issue. Fingers crossed that we have. What I can say is I’ve never seen any of my Acro’s pop in color and have full polyp extension like these this quickly after introduction. I’m hoping that’s a good sign we are on the right track.

Ah okay. Well that does make me question my coral rx dipping in the past then. That’s very similar to what mine were doing. I have enough of a doubt to stop using it anyways.
