I think these days 90% of Floridians are from somewhere else. Where I live in the Villages, the population swells by 40,000 each year when the snow birds come south.

I agree. We used to go beach fishing a lot, until I kept a stingray one day (it was great tasting by the way). Then proceeded to get verbally attacked by a group. Most of the people defended us and got them to back off, but we haven't been back to the beach since that day.

Bought a boat and went fishing that way after. Just to many people that enjoy causing drama it seems anymore. Gotta get those likes/views!

My daughter is the same. She’s an operating room traveling nurse. Works three 12 hour shifts a week with four days off. she still turns 0ver $250,000 a year with the per diem and she loves it.

Oh yeah, I have a few friends that are travel nurses. They make great money for sure. I tell anyone I know that's young and getting into nursing to look at travel nursing just because I know how much they make.

It was all fine when I caught it, until they all got to watch me dispatch it. Took my nice sharp bait knife, and down right between the eyes. Dead instantly, when they saw me do that, that's when they lost it. Couldn't fathom someone fishing for food and why anyone would ever not just release something...

I know how many sting rays are out there, believe me. If you want to eat one, or two dozen, you're not making a dent.

Now I'm torn between my love of happy sea flap flaps and my love of delicious sea meats.

The meat is very different. Very stringy, but not stringy once cooked. Firm once cooked. We fried some and baked some here are the filets from the wings and it all cooked up. (there are a ton of flap flaps in the sea, so your love of sea meats should win lol)

Fed us and the in laws that night, with some leftovers for sandwiches the next day for lunch.

Not in Florida, can catch and keep them still. I agree they're good also, blacktips are good as well. Shark meat is very firm, could definitely pass it off as chicken or pork if it's fried lol

Bonitos! Great to catch, but way too greasy to eat. They always get in the way when you’re trying to catch tuna.

Great for bait in deep sea. Next you ypu kill a sting ray just look someone dead in the eye and say...."this is for Steve Irwin.."

Head over to the skyway fishing pier in Tampa Bay. You can catch grouper all day off the pier! Caught some nice gag groupers there!

It's definately getting yellow compared to what it was when i first got it

Haven't tried one yet, but hopefully one day. I want to catch one also. Biggest I've caught was in Key west, about 160lb bull shark.

I make 'shark bites' out of them... boneless wings of the sea. Panko breading and deep fried or air fried, mix two teaspoons of stone ground or whole mustard in with one small bottle of tabasco and one stick of butter, melt and mix thoroughly. Toss or dip shark bites in sauce as desired.

Most of the grouper I've caught on the skyway has been when it swallowed something else I was catching..

Holy smokes where does she work? My wife is an ICU nurse and she said she makes more than their travelers but if she made that kind of money I’d retire lol!
