Two different locations. Domestic line turned out to be abandoned. He had asked me if i wanted him to put a band on it and drill it to see if it was live. Meanwhile his operator hit the gas line trying to hurry up and help his spotter that was hand digging to expose the line. Line was sanded and had warning tape. That operator had a bad thanksgiving. Hopefully he was at least thankful to be alive…

Some that hit gas aren't.

It was really interesting to me to see what looked like a film students first film which takes place in practically one room be made. I think for QTs first film, it makes a lot of sense in terms of a very rough draft of what he would make later in his film career.

I also didn't realize how much he reuses actors like Tim Roth and Michael Madsen in his films.

I have opted out of the movie theatre experience permanently. If I want to go to a place with sticky floors, oily popcorn, annoying twentysomethings who won't stop talking during the movie and lumpy uncomfortable seating, I can stay home or go to a friend's house for half the cost.

He definitely has a reoccurring cast that he likes to work with. And yeah, his style is less refined in that movie, but it’s definitely there. I particularly noticed it with the dialogue. It’s quick and quirky but later in his career he would refine it. Make it more confident, better paced, and more precise. Think the scene in inglorious bass terds where the people are hiding under the floors and the SS officer is interrogating the French farmer; Precise, restrained, and tense.

Exactly. Plus, the food and adult beverage places make it very easy to spend $100 to have some drinks during a movie. Sure, the big screen and sound is nice, but I’ve got a decent home entertainment system, I can pause the movie to pee, and beers are cheap when they come from the fridge.

edit: The last time I went to a movie theater was Star Wars rise of sky walker. It might be the last time I ever go.

I think that was his best film. I recall seeing it with my dad who was a firefighter and he didn't like watching the movie theater part with people burning, but the rest we both enjoyed.

It’s probably between that one and Hateful 8, with hateful 8 being a slight favorite to me.

I just popped on reservoir dogs and i recognized the voice of comedian Steven Wright as the radio DJ. A few minutes later, sure enough, they credit him! Just discovered that!
