If it keeps jumping, you'll want to consider doing Something.

Broad Cipro is an option, medicated dips as well.

The "why is this happening" is always terrible. It could be a pathogen, pest, swing in parameters weeks to months ago...
I saw some vermitids a while back and broke them off. it hasn't rebounded though, only got worse. I have been thinking "quit touching it so it can heal". but sad hammer is sadder than it was.

So should I do some coral dips with cipro to try and get it to heal up? It’s just so annoying because I got it down in Dallas from reefapalooza and I really want to save it, here are the tanks parameters: ph 8.09 alk 9.38 mag 1311 calc:443

The course of action you take is your decision. Be mindful that any movement of the coral is going to be stressful. If you choose to go the Cipro route, to have any effectiveness that needs to run the entire length of the treatment.

I can tell you that in my tank looking exactly like that, I would move it to lower light and lower flow very gently. That's all I would do.

How to end the last FriYay of the year. Tear your awesome scape apart to catch all the fish and transfer them to QT.

Management wasn't going to work this round. CBB stopped eating yesterday, and the trigger, healing in the sump had a few spots on it.

CBB may have had a few, but hard to tell on them..

This morning CBB is dead, trigger is covered, white Cheek and white tail look terrible. Coral beauty hiding. Either velvet showed up, or a much more aggressive ick than I've ever delt with.

I'm sick of tank on fire. I want to just enjoy it.

Where do you source all these fish from?
I'm 30 miles outside LA. I have a lot of shops in driving distance. When I'm looking for a specific fish, I will pull up saltwater fish stores Yelp page, and just start going down the list of the shops. I like calling them and I'll figure out who has one, keep looking. I usually try to find two. I'll go check them out and if they look good bring them home. I've also ordered from Dr reef when my qt's were full.
