Hey @Projects with Sam that blue... was the hlle prior to you? It looks like it is doing great with you! I'm worried about my convict tang. Showing early signs even though I don't run carbon much.

This thread has some photos / movies from when I got him. He was so stunted its amazing how big he has gotten.
I supplement his diet heavily with vitamins and aminos. (see my homemade food thread) Keep a nori clip in the tank all the time.
I run carbon always. just the BRS ROX kind; pelletized, not the granular rough kind.

akk. had some STN overnight. think its either the Nitrate pad or I didnt give the PVC glue enough time to dry.

dang. shoulda rinsed it out and given more then a few hours dry-time. Should've had the reactor running this whole time.

now to see if I can cnc it or if I need to use the table saw >.<
may just use my compound miter saw and make a buncha waste... hate table saws... (just from lack of comfort through disuse...)

Nitrates at 50 so it wasn't the pad - put it back in. My own stupidity with the PVC glue drying time probably cost me 5-6 frags (3 non-dupe BattleCorals) :(
Not my contest frags at least...
yet.

manufacturing model complete! wasting a ton of material because my machine is so small i need to breakup the parts.

I'm getting some round taps so hopefully will be able to thread the acrylic for barb-ends.
will create a sleave with white PVC ceiling tiles that will hold lights on either side.
using blue tape & crazy glue to hold the work.

Edge finish is garbage but its very much repeatable...
Will just need to sand the parts a little.
Still some chatter from the bit... I can get different bits to reduce that.
Ordering NPT taps up to 3/4" I want to just screw the nibs into the scrubber.

This is the removable tray that the knitting scaffold/mesh sits in. water will run out this hole, down the mesh and will drain via a 3/4" threaded fitting.
Figured I'd toss in a photo of the CNC... when the guts are in, the stepper motor wires are too close to the end-stop wires so false signals are sent... I need to redesign the Arduino case...

Cutting overflow sheaths for a local guy out of PVC ceiling tile.
I need to reprint the whole CNC in PETG so its a little more ridged & durable.

Turned a $30 piece of plastic into a $150 piece of plastic!
IMG_4807(1).JPEG
bad edge finish was because I unnecessarily had tabs on the parts. second sheet didnt have tabs and the cuts were much better. (I've already sanded the lid nice....

The box is the same outer dimension as the light so there'll be full coverage. Will be using PVC Ceiling tiles to make the sheath for the box and the lights.

Not a bad margin there. Print a bigger machine and that could come down more.
Totally! I've already stopped myself from buying more parts... so many projects... all like 85% complete...

Sam's PSA...
Let the PVC glue dry. So many skeletons. Over 30 gallons of water changed. just swapped out my Carbon. I'm out of the grow-out now too. I'm such a dumbWrasse. Why didn't I just wait to turn back on the UV... omg im an idiot. Didnt even need the water for the scrubber yet...

pulled the Kalk dosing because The Alk has started going up without as much consumption because the big eaters are dying. LPS and Softies seem fine. The Nems were balls yesterday; they're open today. Even some of the long time corals Ive had since the get go are buying the farm. Wow. so fast from happy to dead.

So sorry about the losses! Best of luck with the recovery.
Thanks! most of what I got I traded goods/services for. Some not so much... I should have reacted more strongly the first day. I was worried about overreacting and hitting the rails after crossing over the road again.
Its all a learning experience... :( Just hope the ParlgaeScrubber™ is worth it...

Really sorry to hear this. Nothing like nuking a tank man.
On another note that scrubber you built is dope. I really need to get my diy thing going again!

I’m sorry to hear about the recent losses. I’m assuming you added fresh activated carbon? I don’t know what’s in PVC glue (acetone?) Not sure if that’s the issue.

Good luck!
