Make sure he has flow moving past him, not strong just light.

I can’t see anything but those things are not unusual to me for this fish.

Just replaced one last week. Didn’t even see him for 7 days, though he was toast.

Takes a bit for him to get comfortable and the first thing he does is stakes out a spot.

If conditions are good, this fish can easily look after itself.

Well I followed mike from bulk reef supplies YouTube video down to the T. On the positive side the fish is now doing much better

If the store kept the fish at low salinity, there is no way to safely acclimate up to 1.024 without going in stages, and taking a couple of days (by lowering the salinity of the receiving tank to match, and raising it from there).

Acclimation is misunderstood, especially how stressful a salinity rise is to fish. That the gramma is looking better does lean towards this being an acclimation event. Here is my article on acclimation:
