Tank: 40 gallon with very small snowflake eel, 1 skunk shrimp, 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 urchin, 1 royal gramma, 1 yellow angelfish, handful of hermits and 2 conches, some snails
Hi, I introduced my yellow angelfish to my 40 gallon I wanna say a week or two ago. Since I first introduced her I've noticed she has some odd behaviors, like rubbing her side on my snowflake eels snout? She swims perpendicular to him and touches him, it's really odd but he just lets it happen and does not try to bite her at all, he's very small and friendly. He lets my skunk shrimp clean him and lets me pet him so he is not a concern in this post.
She was bothering my peppermint shrimp on the first day she was introduced, so I bought a skunk cleaner shrimp for her immediately.
I left on vacation on Saturday morning , having gone to celebrate my anniversary with my husband in the mountains. My tanks were all taken care of before I left and she did not have the brown spot. I came back 5pm Monday.
In the meantime, my FIL was looking after all of our tanks, and subsequently the salinity spiked in the 40 gallon to 1.034 from the hot weather and no top offs. My angelfish developed a weird brown spot under her lip and I've been observing her over the past few days. It doesn't seem to be getting worse but she has been visiting the skunk a lot and seems very bothered by it.
She's still eating and swimming like normal.
Is this a salinity sore? Is it uronema marinum?
I'm worried for her.
Sorry for low quality it's really hard to take a photo of her lip.
