Busy thread this morning. I'm just settling into a busy day in the home office for once.

Had a minor heartbreak last night when I returned and saw my space ghost was knocked off the plug (plug still in the locking rack). Spent an hour looking for it, it was wedged in the rock below. I don't know how long it was there, but it was still alive. Reglued it and checked on it after lights out with a blue light and it still fluoresces.

These are so cool too, for whatever reason he is super open and happy today. I'll have to get parameters check this evening and see if there is something tickling his fancy.

Bivalve that came in on my live lock. He's almost the size of a baseball. I've posted on R2R for an ID but nothing definitive. I also have a turkey wing clam and a few more tiny bivalves.
Think you have a basket cockle, not to be confused with a basket case!

Basket Cockle (Clinocardium nuttalli)

This basket cockle (Clinocardium nuttalli) can avoid approaching predators by extending its large foot to repeatedly push itself up and over out of the way across the ocean floor. I’ve seen this survival technique in the past as an approaching sunflower star touched a basket cockle with one of its arms and the bivalve quickly moved to safety. The basket cockle can be noticed resting on top of the substrate, or will be buried below with only the tentacle covered siphons showing. The thick shells have a deep profile and large undulating ribs. Often the basket cockle is tan with a mottled pattern of brown, or yellowish-brown. This bivalve can grow to 5.5 inches (14 cm) across, and has a range from the northern Bering Sea to southern California.
