Can someone explain why ATO reservoirs are so expensive. I just use a 5 gallon home Depot bucket for one tank and a water jug for the other. I can't comprehend why acrylic reservoirs are 125$ plus.

Haha going to use a giant inspirational speech to change people charging an arm and a leg for 5 sides of acrylic? Seriously one of the most incomprehensible costs within the hobby to me. It doesn't move, has little more than ascetics to offer, and costs as much as some power heads.

FYI if anyone is ever looking for one, I use these plastic jugs. I only need a 2.5 gallon jug for my nano tank but you can get them bigger. It was $16, I even got a cap where the middle part pops out so I can run wires through the cap. A Tunze ATO pump fits perfectly through the hole. It really was the perfect little find for me. Sure I keep it hidden, but it seals off almost completely with cap and wires in cap and saves a lot of space. Highly recommend if you like to be neat and organized but you don't want to spend $200 on a water holder that no one is going to see.

Long story short, she bit me, I threw her on the ground, picked her back up, tossed her back in the tank. 2 years later she's still alive and still runs away when I put my hand in the tank.
