The good: came clean, doesn’t appear damaged or frayed in any way!

The bad: PITA to reroll, came out in a massive knot!

IMO if I can wash and reuse each roll 3-4 times then I have gotten my money’s worth out of them!

Well…I’m at a loss for words here. You might be the absolute most patient person on the planet! The knots alone would have generated every known expletive plus some over here…..I would never have made it to the winding stage! Maybe you’ve found a niche business.

Oh trust me, had my wife not been asleep on the couch there would have been many expletives thrown around! Alas, I was bound and determined to at least try it one time. If the washed roll doesn’t perform as I hope, I won’t be doing this again!

Thinking of having one of these printed if my boy @ilikefish69 can modify the size to match the original cardboard roll to make rerolling much simpler….

Great idea! Will definitely be getting one of these to try next time

I think you would have a harder time explaining to your wife why you got a laundry bag for bras then why you're using the washing machine for roller fleece.

It doesn’t if you do multiple quick washes as opposed to on large wash. Just start with some quick rinse and spins then for last one do a full wash.

I’ve thought about this, the re-rolling doesn’t seem too bad, but the is does the smell linger in the machine at all?
Hasn’t happened yet. Been washing filter socks since day one in it. I will say we have a fairly brand new set of washer/dryer that lets me choose the option to rinse the load up to 5 times. Granted the load takes 3 hours to complete when I do this but have never smelled anything. A 5 gallon bucket of damp soiled filter socks smell like it is waiting on an autopsy yet hasn’t left a smell in the machine!

Someone else here tried that with similar results...

Look into coolant paper as a lower cost alternative, your sanity will thank me, lol.
Yes, second this! The coolant paper at $10/roll of 50 yards from Precision is the way to go. You could also pick any filter grade (in Microns) you need for your tank.

Got to say I’m impressed with how this turned out. Curious to see the results in the tank.

Yes me too, I swapped it out with a brand new unused fleece this go round. The biggest concern I have is all the danged dog hair it picked up while laying on the floor while I rerolled it. Wifey has 3 great danes so it’s inevitable to get on everything. Most likely there has been 50 lbs of hair that has randomly floated into the tank over the last couple years so shouldn’t be a huge issue as we don’t use anything chemical wise on their coats.
