Sorry I blew up didn’t see the update! Beautiful tank! And that sump!Oh he’s working from home alright! Open it! Open it!
I love it!! I'll post more later but I thought i better inspect it for damages and also make sure my Weir box fit as ordered haha! Success on all fronts. Two tiny scratches about a 1/32 of an inch long if that in the lower left corner of the back panel, probably from manufacturing. No big deal, you'll never see them from the front. Also, Bashsea sent a preview of my sump!
getting ready to be shipped (custom sump and custom ATO)!
really satisfied with the build quality especially considering he was one of the lowest quotes I got out there when going thru this process way back. I'm all kinds of satisfied.Tank looks AMAZING!
Get it in the basement without breaking it is step one!Well it’s about time! Awesome looking! You did a great job on the design of the sump and ato....
Now put it all together and let’s see that bad boy in action.. haha... oh now we wait for the sump.... hahah.... awesome stuff !!!
No pressure....Get it in the basement without breaking it is step one!
The tank is beautiful! Just glad I didn’t drop it! Hahaha! Went a lot smoother than I thought it might. It was great to see everything that you have been doing first hand. Top class set up man! Stand is even more impressive first hand. You’re doing a great job planning and executing. And believe it or not, I didn’t even have to drag my kids or my wife with. They came of there own free will......even after having met you and Brenda!Hola fellow reefers! Today was a good day, a tank day!! This community is awesome, I've met some new and genuinely good friends (you know who you are ) in the short time I've joined this forum that have helped and guided me back into this hobby and I really sincerely value and appreciate that!
So i got it moved in today!! With the help of @jk_s124 (and special thanks to his wife who undoubtedly got unwillingly dragged along haha), my kayaking comrade in arms Justin who just shook his head and said 'you fish people are crazy' cuz he just don't get it, and my daughters boyfriend Mateao. We scratched our collective heads for a bit and talked thru a plan and ultimately executed it well. No damage to house, tank or the cat. I have to admit, I had a lot of anxiety about how we were going to get this thing downstairs, but it turned out just fine.
Tank freshly on the stand
see @Reef370 with the top bolted down it didn't fall off lol!
My moving crew (left to right @jk_s124 and Justin looking at us like we're all insane, not shown Mateao and myself)
Few more pics including showing Modular Marine overflow mounted.
Justin and I both woke up this morning dragging butt because we went on a 13 mile night time kayaking trip with 18 people and didn't get to bed until after 3 am haha but it was epic!
Fedex called and scheduled delivery of my sump this coming Tuesday, so once it gets here I'll start laying out my plumbing and enter the next phase. Pretty excited now, the anticipation has been murder and I'm sure glad it's over.
thanks for following along!
Like we discussed I still need to figure out a skimmer. I'm looking at a few options there including your recommendation. A kalk reactor eventually to round out my ATO and then when I get around to it supplemental lights for my T5's but I'm in no hurry there as I'm a long ways away from corals just yet. After all that I'll fabricate a floating hood for my lights as well as skin the stand. Somewhere in the mix I'll seed in a controller, likely APEX but I'm still actually considering GHL, but it's an outlier.Looking snazzy!!’ Can’t wait to see the plumbing, I vote white pvc ! Would really make things pop!
So, what all do you still have to get so everything is up and running??
