Ordered plumbing supplies and ATO pump Friday. Looks like everything should be here by the weekend, but I have a few things to finish up before I start on the plumbing. I've also decided on how I plan to manage cables in the sump cabinet and will be picking up supplies for that today. If things work out the way I hope I won't need any zip ties.

Still need a few more things to get the plumbing completed. I decided to go with black pipe and all Spears schedule 80 fittings / gate valves. Also went with Locline for the fuge drain and return lines. I have most of the plumbing supplies and the ATO pump, but after getting all the 45 degree elbows and seeing how close the plumbing is going to hug the back of the stand I'm thinking I may have to go with 90s to enter the back of the stand.

Before I can start on the plumbing I need to sit the tank back on the stand. I removed it to put a finish coat on the stand. I didn't want to get any on the glass and didn't want to mask it with paper and tape. I put three coats of wipe on poly on and sanded with steel wool between coats.

The fuge light was delayed shipping so I didn't get it when I expected, but I'm very pleased with the quality from Buildmyled. It's a 12" Universal for red and green macro with 45 degree optics. I also got things programmed and cabled to make it dimmable. Even though the cable is right beside power cables I didn't see any flickering that I heard about where people had to separate the cable from everything else. Picture was taken with fixture at 50%.

Also found these at Home Depot to use for cable management inside the sump cabinet once I have everything routed. As you can see in the above pic I don't have everything plugged into the controller yet so that I can yank the sump out to drill for the plumbing for a quick easy clean up. These are called D-Wings and come in 2 sizes and weren't too pricy. They're made of rubber so I think they should hold up nicely. I got 12 of each size for around $11 I think.

I may be delaying this build a little longer. I'm not building a new tank for my landlord to destroy like the last one because they can't provide proper A/C maintenance. In the past 2 weeks my A/C has quit on me 3 times. I'm strongly considering just packing up and moving out before they cost me more money in damages. Anyway I'll spare the rant. I have everything but rock and sand to finish the build and start a cycle, but I'm not starting this tank up with this crap going on.

I think they may have finally done something to permanently resolve the A/C problems. There was a new inside blower motor and thermostat installed when I got home yesterday. Only time will tell. The weather has been odd lately too. Seems more like fall than July. In the meantime I'm going to work on cutting and dry fitting the plumbing this weekend and hopefully get things glued. I also have a few other things to finish up and the build portion will be finally done. I have a friend in the HVAC business and I'm tempted to ask him to check the system before starting the tank up to get some peace of mind before doing so.

Got the plumbing dry fitted today. I'll go back and glue everything tomorrow; then, finish up the stand pipes. Here's a few pics.

Got most of the wiring and plumbing finished. I've decided to change the refugium drain a bit and I'll take a pic once I've done that. I don't like the way the locline looks and bugs me. Still a few things to button up and adjust, but here's a few shots of where I am with the build.

Some better pics of the sump cabinet and the plumbing in the rear. Still not quite finished in here, but here's an idea of what things will look like. The fuge drain I do intend to change and I still need to solder the wires for the float switches and shrink wrap those and a few other small details.
