Thats awesome the base has retained its color as I am hoping my bleached mag keeps its base color too. Both of my mags are doing well and the bleached mag has finally settled into a spot next to the other mag and the second mag is huge and the tips of the tentacles are changing color but the base of it is almost white. I will get some pictures with the blue lights off this weekend. Also a different LFS around here is said to have a mag I am going to look at possibly today and see what kind of shape its in@JonezNReef the base is still an intense red luckily. How are your mags doing? Any new pics?
My second mag has a bleached based but it was brown to begin with. Keep us posted if you like what you see at the LFS and take the mag plunge a third time!!Thats awesome the base has retained its color as I am hoping my bleached mag keeps its base color too. That thing is looking great. Wish I could get one like it. Keep up the good workBleached mag is coloring up nicely but like the previous one it’s difficult to see in the photos. So far I think the key to its success is the small daily feeding and increase in T5 light period. Very curious to see if retains the intense green it had before the bleaching event.

That's interesting. Maybe they will spawn at some point. My purple mag decided to go for a walk and started to move closer to the green one. As soon as it was close the green mag immediately started to move to meet it. Not sure why they did this but I’ll post an update if anything goes bad.

That’s what I was thinking, and afraid of, as well…I’m going to have to make sure my skimmer is pretty empty from now on and that I have carbon on standby just in case it happens in the future. That's interesting. Maybe they will spawn at some point.
That’s great to hear! I was wondering if they prefer to be colonial in nature vs solitary since I’ve seen pics of both situations. The interesting thing to me was as the purple mag was moving I saw what corals were affected by it’s sting and which were not. My gorgonians which are highly sensitive to stings (GSP will kill the flesh after a day or two!) we’re fine. My long polyp leather not so much. After a day of the mag touching it the leather, and the frags I made trying to save it, were dead with in a week.Ever since mine have moved close to each other they have stayed put

Well worth the extra work though!
Any insight on how the Mag sting effects SPS? I’m about to add one and I’m worried about all of my Acro frags. I’m going to put on a flat rock right underneath one of my metal halides but I just having a feeling it’s going to walk…..That’s great to hear! Likely it would kill them over time, BTA stings definitely do.Any insight on how the Mag sting effects SPS? I’m about to add one and I’m worried about all of my Acro frags. I’m going to put on a flat rock right underneath one of my metal halides but I just having a feeling it’s going to walk…..
