I am not new to this hobby, in fact, I started with a 250g reef tank back 2008 and had to take my tank down in 2012, because life got too busy and I was not able to take care of my system.
I still kept an old biocube in my storage with the hope that I would get back in the hobby. Last year, I decided to set up my BC 29 in my office and just for fun and the get bit by the bug again. My wife saw that and wanted me to set one up in our house.
This time I wanted a rimless cube and found a great deal on a Marineland 93g cube. I set the tank up and let it cycle. One day, I was laying in my bed and was looking at my aquascape and all I see is water pouring from one side of my tank. I noticed some bubbles in the seam when I filled it up, but thought it was normal. Luckily, I was home when this happened, so the damage was minimal to the floor. But, I had my radions laying on the floor beside the tank and it got soaked and was damaged beyond repair.
It bummed me out, but I found a great deal on a custom made tank, it's a 30x30x20 cube, about 78 gallons.
Hardware
Tank: 30x30x20 custom made cube
sump:Bashsea Signature Series 20x20x16 sump
Return Pump: Vectra M1
Skimmer: Bubble Magnus Curve D8
Controller: Apex
Flow: MP 40 and Mp 10
Light: 2X Radion XR30W G4 Pro controlled by reeflink.
I want this to be a mixed reef tank with a zoa rock island. Since I used cured live rock and a marineblock from a different tank, my tank cycled quickly. I had brown diatoms in a week and this week all. the brown algae disappeared and green algae is growing on the rocks, sand and on the glass.
Currently, there are 2 clowns and some clean up crew in the tank. Looking to stock my tank light on the fish and heavy on the corals.
