Hello,

back again still looking for a legit answer.

I thought I had and was dealing with Chrysophytes but now I’m unsure.

went from a patch to everywhere in the tank. Maybe it’s more than one thing. Please help me ID based on the pictures you see below

I am assuming GHA. That is best removed manually and spot treated with H2O2.
Do not use a toothbrush to clean it off the rock.

Do you mean don’t use a toothbrush if treating in tank because it can spread or not use a toothbrush at all?

Correct, do not use a toothbrush in the tank. It will spread like wildfire. You can use a brush with the rock outside the tank using lukewarm freshwater rinse before putting the rock back in but that still poses some risk as even small segments may continue to grow.
