New shiny badges. By nature, I am a harsh self-critic. Dont consider myself anyone to take advice from on most subjects concerning reefing. But I guess thats the beauty of the excellence badge. It's more about your presence in the forums than the validness of what you post.

And my DIY auto filler 9000 thread was chosen as an article as well? Feeling extremely grateful, blessed, and humbled by this, although I can think of many more that deserve it more than myself.

Happy to be here, these past 2 weeks have been enlightening and full of generous acts of kindness across the board.

This was the icing on the cake. Thank you all so much for most of all, being kind people and good friends. This site has truely been a sanctuary for me. Life changing on some levels. And for that, I say thank you #r2r4life .

This I disagree with, experience counts for a lot, all tanks are different but in theory should be very similar to get right, you have the knowledge to give useful suggestions, a calmer input!

Onto the Electrical Upgrade for the tank feed line coming from the breaker box in the basement. Landlord approved.

The entire living room where the tank is, runs on a 15A circuit. 4 receptacles in total, but the 2 behind the tank are running in line through the wall, while the remaining 2 leads come up individually from a breakout box in the basement.

Here in the pic, I have placed 2 yellow "X"'s to where the tanks' power comes from.

As you can see I also need to run a window AC as pictured, and my system... but the single pole 15A breaker for the entire room will not do the job safetly.

The plan is to isolate the 2 leads behind the tank from the rest of the room, and run a line for it to it's own 15A breaker. This will be ample protection for the house and the tank, and also isolates my Reef from the rest of the room. Peace of Mind.

Hit home depot and got a friend coming over who has been in the electricians' union for 20 years. I will be watching and learning today instead of DIY.

I am upgrading the current receptacles to GFCI while I have it all apart as well.

I'm chubby and I dont get along well with humid, hot, new england summers.;Shifty So this was necessary. Before I upgraded to the sump, all I had was the lighting, canister, 2 small powerheads and a hob Remora skimmer. The power consumption was minimal before but we are much too close to the 15A max now that all my new equipment is in and running daily.

If u dont hear from me by tonight, chances are I have less hair than before and may need a titanium ground probe.
