Moved tank out, resealed overflow, still a trickle.:(

So... I'm gonna try 1 last thing before silicone. Because let's be honest silicone could fail if the gap is big enough. I didnt wanna deal with this down the road if it were to fail.

So now it's definitely narrowed down to the unions being too wide for the space I have, and they're forcing the outside overflow box to not sit flush.
What about a piece of .250 acrylic, drilled to the correct size with an extra set of gaskets to space the box away from the glass?

This would work, and avoid me trying this next idea... but it would also space to box and connections further from the tank and therefore put the drain line against the wall once again..

So what I'm gonna try now, is to test dremmeling the union locknut on a spare I have to see if I can shave it down a bit without compromising the integrity of the connection. This will hopefully give me the 1/16th of an inch I'm off on the overflow box from being flush.

Frustration is maxed at this point ;Hurting

I dont know if this falls under #honestyinreefing or #readthedirectionsidiot

Prolly the 2nd one. So this whole time, I have had the two "outside" gaskets inside the overflow box, between the locknut for the bulk head and the inside wall of the box.... yaaa... so... before I started dremmeling... I found this...

Needless to say, I've had the gaskets in the wrong place this entire time.

::::Big breaths::::
Woooosaahhhhh

They are now in the correct position which is between the glass and the box.

<---- I'm with stupid

Need to make about 10 gallons of mixed rodi to get levels correct in the sump and I'll try it again...

Prolly have a better chance of it working without a leak now that the leak-protection is installed correctly.

Good that it was an easy fix that was just hard to find. I think we’ve all been there on a project or two in our lives. Glad ya got it squared away before ya started dremeling at least. Full speed ahead and smooth sailing now

Half speed now cuz full speed lead to a couple whoopsies. But yes, hopefully when I test it all will be well and I will be finished with the dang filtration.

The end of that only marks the beginning of the next steps. Permanently attaching the walls, power management, and then ATO.

Nice save!

At one of our work locations we are not allowed to use harsh language with each other. [emoji849]

We have resorted to "Your hair looks nice today."

And

"You're so pretty."

Approved! Code language at work is the best.

Simply amazing how well something works when u install it correctly and follow the directions.

Everything is rocking, I'm officially collecting my first ever skim from a sump. And im making a friggen martini with it tomorrow. o_O

Heaters are moved down below. Gyres will go in tomorrow if all is clear. Plumbing is working perfect, baffle heights are all matching with the flow. Incredibly happy that I bought an adjustable DC pump now that I can tune the flow with the turn of a knob.

You will get your FTS tomorrow when lights come on. More Suspense!

Gnite all.

Alright. Now that things have settled a bit and the tank is running...

Time for the losses,

Polyp bailout on the green blasto

Duncan lost 2 of the 5 heads, but its coming back slowly.

All the mature heads of Acan are gone. But 1 little baby survived.

And sadly, my 4" CB chimp became a SouthPaw righty... itll grow back tho.
And no sign of the tiny juvenile BLUE coral banded shrimp I had as well. Doubtful that he made it. But I'll hope.

All in all, not bad for 72 hours in a bucket with a nano pump, heater and no lighting.
More graves for my Frag Graveyard will be dug soon. Oh well. Summer live sales are coming :D

RBTA didnt skip a beat though!
