Just hit the 16 hour mark on the skimmer test run. Thing is a beast.

Just had it running in a tub holding water waiting to refill the tank at the end. Skimming like champ.

Alright... everything from the tank top side is done. Tinted, drilled, plumbed.

Sump baffles are curing.

All that's left to do is the under-side plumbing to the sump chambers.

Return pump came in today.

Gonna hit the sack, and then I have to decide if I am going to refill the tank with rock, water, and inverts, and let the sand die-off get cycled on it's own without fish or coral...

Or if I am going to pull 120lbs of sand out and replace with new live sand... my corals have been in a bucket for 36 hrs, with a heater and circulation, but havent seen lights at all. Idk if I can go much longer before losing some.

Tough decisions to make now going forward. Tomorrow I will scrape the front and sides, finish the plumbing underneath, run power management, and decide what to do with the sand.

I'm dead beat. Gnite

Day 3... ;Shifty

After receiving advice from reefsquad... ( #r2rforlife ) on my situation with die-off in the stagnant sand bed that I left in the tank during this journey, I have made my decision.

I am going to refill the tank with my live rock, original water, and inverts that I have had in containers with heat, oxygen, and flow since Saturday Night.

Heaters, and gyres will go back in after a rinse.

Then I will wait to see what ammonia and Nitrite are at in 6-10 hrs once things resettle.

Thankfully my friend left me this puppy:
