Hello. I occasionally trade frags with a local reefer (shrooms, zoas, lps) and I am noticing a difference in coloration and “color pop” under full blues. I do understand a difference in nutrient and lights can definitely affect this. The corals coming from the other tank are under radion g3 and mine are under radion g6.

For the sake up color pop we will talk about both lights being full blue and my most recent trade. I traded some Pikachu zoas for a baby jaw breaker shroom. I saw the zoas in his tank open basically immediately and wow did they seem brighter and more vibrant. Upon arriving home and letting the jawbreaker settle in it doesn’t even look that bright golden orange but almost a dull/washed out bronze orange.

This has happened on multiple occasions with the corals looking more washed out in my tank instantly.

My question being is the newer series radions lacking in that vibrant coral color pop etc…? I do understand the g6s have less par.

tank: 24w x 21h cube.
Light: xr15 g6

Attached is my current light settings.
