Is this a blasto tank? I can’t even find placement if I wanted to get more. I need to put them in <100 par
No it’s just the tank

I have some sand bed left I think

These look sooo fake and highly saturated….
I’ve never seen ANY coral with those vivid colors like that in my almost 20 years reefing.

You have a thing for people with edited photos lol

Mine all sit middle of the tank getting blasted with 200+ PAR and love it
Mine are more or less in 100par or less…I do have a few that are 100par maybe a bit more…no grumbles. But I start everything off low and move it up after a bit

Of course it is, but the coral itself is still an incredible, collector grade piece

You must have a thing for…throwing out unnecessary, unasked for, and untrue opinions?

I like the large polyp size of this strain, crazy pattern, and colors. I’m aware the picture is enhanced. Also aware of what the coral really looks like. After many years of seeing enhanced coral pictures I know how to filter that out in my head. Also have researched this coral and seen plenty of pictures that are not enhanced. Regardless, it’s a great example of high end, unique blastos. There is no denying that is a very healthy and happy, thriving colony.

Interesting. Maybe a difference in strain, or conditioned to that level of light. The ones I linked to are 80par. And I do have limited experience with blastos. 3 types I got in the last 6-8 months. I have blue ravens, which slowly bleached and began to erode on a frag stand on the sand, center of my tank, and recovered by being moved to shade. Another type which was doing fine on the sand and bleached when moved to a frag shelf mid height, and the latest are bsa Mountain Dew, which I started in <100 par and avoided any issues.

Care instructions for Blasto agree they are typically a low light coral. Your blunt statement is potentially harmful to others if they just went out and got some, brought home, and placed in 250 par, because you implied it’s ok.

My statement was more to imply that these corals can and will adapt to a wide range of conditions. Regardless of what your website says.

Was it a joke or a jab? Seems like the type of comment where only the one typing would be laughing
It was a joke. Any time the topic of color enhanced photos is brought up online you’re getting tagged.

If you didn’t find it funny, so be it. Things don’t always translate over text. Oh well

my issue with you is less of what you say and more of how you say it

You didnt tell readers that they can adapt to higher light. If you feel you implied anything along those lines, you didn’t. What you implied, is that it’s fine to put them in 200+ par.

You’re also right things don’t translate the same over text. Same for the way you talk to an old college buddy vs a stranger. You should keep your audience in mind and adjust appropriately, or you risk coming off in an unintended way.

My apologies if I interpreted the wrong tone behind your words. I don’t know you and we have not interacted much on here, I don’t know your personality. On second glance, you seem like one of those good buds that can be a bit of a button pusher and get away with it because of a strong friendship. I’ll keep a more open mind with you in the future. Maybe even joke back. I’ll take things less seriously. Maybe I have a wall up I need to break down :)

I keep mine at the sand bed under partial overhangs.
