Is there a praziquantel test kit available for hobbyists?

Study I read where they tested praziquantel concentration in marine aquariums:

The subsequent two PZQ treatments yielded even faster PZQ breakdown (non-detectable after 2 days and 2 ± 1 day, respectively) with slight variations between systems.

Hello,

we can measure the concentration of Praziquantel in Seawater using HPLC-DAD, but its not a standard test.
If you need further infos, just let me know.

All the best,
Christoph

How much would it cost? I’m curious to know how much praziquantel remains after 1-2 days in a very established reef tank that carbon doses.

in the range of ~150 USD for one sample. Multiple samples would be more cost efficient (USD 30 per additional sample, since we can use the same calibration).

Regarding sampling you could just send us the water directly, but it should be (and remain) frozen during transit (cool packs). We can utilize other sampling techniques that dont require cooled shipping, but we would need to get this sampling equipment to you first.

Sorry i cannot offer these special analyses for a more affordable price.

All the best,
Christoph

Thank you very much for the info. It’s good to know there’s an option to test it if we really want to.

I’m going to hold off on the idea. I really appreciate you responding. :)
