Dark side of the moon still holds up today. "Time"'s lyrics have become surreal to me as I get older.
I completely agree!

Okay, okay..... I'm just getting caught up with this Pink Floyd stuff!
Me back when I was stationed in Germany.
Yes, we had to get clearance to pass through check point charlie on the Soviet side.
It was the largest concert I have ever attended. Some say 250,000, some say closer to 500,000 all shoved into Potsdamer Platz, Soviet's "no man's land" where many died trying to escape to West Berlin.
Was unreal, even at today's standards.
Side note: kinda stuck on "Animals" and "The division bell" as my favorites. Saw them on the "momentary lapse of reason" tour here in Saint Louis.
There are these moments in life that only a few people witness.
Jimy Hendrix at Woodstock - The Star-Spangled Banner
Cheap Trick - Live at Budokan
Queen - Live Aid - Ay-Oh
And of course what you witnessed. Just hidden nuggets that literally, unintentionally, immortalize the band.
I agree completely.
Forgot to add a big thank you for your service. Especially overseas. There are two militaries I used to say. Those in the states and those who serve overseas. Both are noble but there is a distinct difference when across the Pacific or Atlantic . I got back stateside and was like what the heck is this
Again - you are a lucky man to have seen that and be a part of it more importantly.
I whole heartedly agree. Could be some of the most real lyrics ever written IMODark side of the moon still holds up today. "Time"'s lyrics have become surreal to me as I get older.
Lol yeah we always laughed at the intro also....there is a live concert where he goes crazy with his laugh. Him and Gilmour are polar opposites musically. Everything Gilmour does is smooth....voice or guitar. Roger is the opposite.Yeah, good points. I always liked RW as a vocalist though. A bit range limted (much more so now) but he had an interesting voice ….. contrasted well with Gilmour. His introduction to Run Like Hell on the live Wall recording always made me chuckle (the guy's nuts LOL).
Identical story to me......I am actually listening to WMMS now lol....although I have seen Roger Waters 4-5 times, but not with Floyd. It's so nice to see all this Pink Floyd love. I was fortunate to see Floyd live in concert 6 times, though all were post Waters shows. I grew up in Cleveland and WMMS always played Floyd. I was hooked at a young age. I couldn't pick a favorite album, it's impossible for me. The only time I have cried tears of joy was the first time watching video playback of the Live8 reunion performance.
I am jealous you saw In the Flesh. Naming top 5 concerts would be tough but here goes my top 6 (can't do 5)Got me thinking about my five favorite concerts of all time:
1. 1977 In the Flesh
2. Genesis Wind & Wuthering, also 1977 (or maybe early 1978) - saw them at least once in every tour after that.
3. Last Supertramp tour with Roger Hodgeson, 1983 I think.
4. Bee Gees (guilty pleasure) when all three brothers were alive, 1988 maybe.
5. Renaissance 1980 or 1981 (Cornell campus)
Back in the late 80's there was a laser light show inside a dome shaped room in Boston.. the show was "Pink Floyd - The Wall"... we sat in reasonably comfortable chairs and looked up at the ceiling while the tunes rolled on the awesome sound system... state of the art back then... anybody else catch that show?
Funny story about that concert. A huge group of us went up in two vehicles from Columbus. Our group had great seats in the 12th row. I remember showing the tickets and they just kept escorting us closer and closer and I was sure it was a mistake...lol. The other group was off somewhere else. They were tripping and we were just smoking. Remember when it started pouring down rain after the first half? They turned all the lights up and had a little intermission. The other group thought it was over and left...lol. We didn't know until we got back and they were complaining they only did stuff off the new album.I had a hard time giving this post a like after you called Waters a jerk.....even if he was lol. Lets just call it creative differences I saw that same concert in Cleveland as well.
Now I'm going to have to watch the whole thing. We used to go see that at the midnight movies buzzed out of our minds.Watching Live in Pompeii right now, never gets old
