I know the gen 5s tend to defuse really well and are kinda the blessing a lot of us have been waiting for, for a true mixed reef lighting option, but having them defused my be almost ati blue + level with out having to run a hybrid setup. Time will tell. I do miss the old days though! T5s are sooooo much easier to not mess up!! Hahaha
Totally agree. Plug them in, set a timer, replace bulbs. Done.
I do like the LED color, otherwise, I'd still be t5.

I got the gen 5 diffuser this weekend (LFSs got them on Friday) and it makes the Gen5 even better. Gen5 still had a slight disco, but much better then previous models. With the diffuser disco is 100% gone... fully blended color.

Thank you for the update. I was curious on user experience with the diffuser.

Yeah?? That's exciting mine are coming in the mail soon with a preorder. Was there a noticeable decrease in par? Website says to expect about a 20% decrease

It’s the heat for me! We live way up in the mountains of souther California so ac isn’t a necessity but on the warmer days my chiller puts in overtime. And I’ve noticed over the years a warmer house shortens the time between replacing bulbs.

Awesome!!! But what did it do to your par levels?!? Are you seeing good par up top and muted par deeper down?!?!? This is the effect I am hoping for!!!

Ecotech put a video out on youtube testing PAR with the diffuser and it was only a 5% drop.

Agreed. I'm in Northern Nevada. Desert gets hot. Haha.
