It won’t let me take off the emergency button but anyways I’m having a weird problem with this orange like slime that was growing on my corals and then I realized it was growing in my sump I’ll attach pictures. It’s not cyano bc I think cyano is red and I used chemiclean awhile ago but it didn’t work if it was cyano.

another problem is I recently had a problem with low calcium and mag but I’m fixing it and now my torch’s and frogspawns are doing better but my Birdsnest and my Birdsnest frags arent opening up like they should. I attached picture for both problems before and after but can someone please help me I have no idea what is going on. Also my meat coral is dying and not sure how to fix it

didn’t mean to include that zoa picture not sure how to delete it

Give it gentle blasts with a turkey baster and see if dislodges. May be a light film of cyano bacteria

I agree with the other comments. Probably Cyano Bacteria. I've been having some problems with it in my sump and a little bit in my sand bed. Though I'm no expert and I think you should ask more experienced reefers for help; with your sump, I would manually remove it during a water change. That has worked for me. you could also cover it with something to prevent light, because the algae will eventually die as they are photosynthetic. I dont know how to get it off of the coral though. Sorry, wish I could be more help.

Yea I’ve just been blasting it so it comes off but I just realized it’s growing on the walls in my sump

Can be red, blue, or green, maybe its the lighting making it look orange, again hard to tell from the photos.
Yea I couldn’t figure out a better way to get a good photo, but it’s like bright orange. I also had high nutrients and phosphates because I accidentally dosed phosphate not realizing it was phosphate so I did have a bunch of algae everywhere and diatoms I still do have diatoms on the sand though that I can’t get rid of and I have no idea how too

In lieu of chemiclean turn off whites 3-5 days, add 1.5ml of liquid bacteria per 10 gallons such as micro bacter 7 and at night 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons to the sump as an oxidizer both for 5 days
It’ll be gone

Hydrogen peroxide is an disinfectant commonly available from a pharmacy (over the counter). You usually can find it at the grocery store as well.

Peroxide is an oxidizer and Not a disinfectant although there are diluted forms of it in bleach and disinfectants. It is no longer used on wounds due to irritants contained in it

just so I understand correctly, I would not want to use the commercially available 3% hydrogen peroxide, which is used as a common household disinfectant, correct? Would one need to use the more concentrated food grade peroxide? Is there a specific brand/type to use?

The common grocery store brand or Walmart brand. Most safe 3% will be in a brown bottle
