Hello reefers! I recently added some Reefapalooza additions to my reef and wanted to make sure I'm in the clear!

I had a green cyano bloom after a family member decided to play God and turn my reef lights to a higher intensity. I noticed after about a week when green cyano started to cover the sand and work its way to the live rock.

Through vigorous water changes and scrubbing the rocks while siphoning i have curbed the grow to tremendously. It has been a few days since I stirred the sand or performed a water change and included pics of what it looks like now.
The picture is before I got it under control. Now it's not really reproducing, a lot less algae. I plan to hit it with another siphoning tomorrow am.

I did pick up a meat coral yesterday and wanted to make sure this algae does not get on his skeleton and cause problems. Do I need to worry about this? Continue with water changes? Other suggestions? Thanks in advance for all help!

Should be gone but for prevention, you can for the next two weeks add Liquid Bacteria such as MicroBacter 7
during the day at 1.5ml per 10 gallons. Add Hydrogen peroxide at night at 1ml per 10 gallons.
Also, add a few snails such as cerith, margarita, astrea and nassarius plus 6-8 blue leg hermits to take control.

Here's as of now. A liftle harder to see with lights on, but it's subsided tremendously. Still a bit remaining on the sand though.. should I keep hitting it with the siphon?!

Great info! Should I hold off on water change while performing that regimen over the next couple of weeks? Or hit it with the vac regularly?

Do change water and siphon up any patches of cyano if present. Water changes are important unlike what the perception of not doing one which reduces the organic content that feeds cyano.
