No I have gotten fish from them before though. People are ignoring that part. I also got a confirmation from shop of the package being shipped. I also already filed with my bank and pay pal. I just don't know what I should do when the fish arrive. That's all.

you put them in salt water :p

What are you on? I have nothing but good things to say about AquaSD and I have spent THOUSANDS with them.

Not entirely true. USAA offers excellent protection on my debit card. I've used it for several hundred dollar charge backs or disputes with zero issue.

But overall I agree and use my Amex for 99.9% of my purchases.

Huh? A friend and I just ordered almost $3000 in fish and had a very good experience. As good as you could get with shipping live creatures.
First, Im not on anything, and you spending that much with them is probably why you like them. I attempted to buy $75 worth of corals on their ebay store. Told me they required a minimum of $100 to ship. Okay fair, so bought another coral to bump it to $100. Next message I get from them was they now required a $200 dollar minimum to ship. Had to get ebay involved for a refund, wasnt going to play that game with them. That was a few years ago now so maybe they are different now? but not when I tried and I wont try again after what they pulled with me

I'm just trying to prepare for anything. I just want to sit by a reef tank that looks like this. It's so nice to watch them eat.
Just wait for the package. If it shows and all is good, sure cancel the disputes. Otherwise if it never shows, does show but is DOA, missing fish, etc. keep the disputes.

There are too many red flags, even if they ship some stuff, they are not legit. The communication, stolen images from numerous sites, lack of business or contact info, etc. Keep ordering and you will get burned.

Yes, certainly some banks offer enhanced protection for debit cards but fundamentally a debit and credit transaction differ. Maybe less now than they did in the past due to new consumer protection laws. USAA is likely a good card for sure.

Their reviews on eBay are so bad.

They are not sending you quarantined eating butterflies imo if they do send them.

You don’t get three quarantined butterflies for $150.

At best they are a fish flipper with very bad communication that doesn’t refund voluntarily. Numerous reviews saying they had to get eBay involved to get the money back for items not shipped or dead or missing.

It’s certainly possible they do not have any fish on hand or a facility but simply are a drop shipper. So they take the order then forward it to another company who then ships the fish.

Their Facebook shows Los Angeles which is right by all the wholesalers.

No, not different. They played same game with me. Before they had a min ship policy on eBay. This was last December. Won 3 corals and paid the shipping fee. They confirmed ship date. Then I confirmed. All good. Then day of they call me and refuse to ship and threaten to cancel my order if I didn’t buy more. I asked how much more. They said like one or two corals because they are barely breaking even and only making a little and it’s not worth their time. I said how much more. They wouldn’t tell me and said I could buy anything just need to buy more to justify shipping. I had to publicize this to get my order shipped. Then, they shipped all lower grade versions of the “wysiwyg” corals. Like, color completely different. Wrong number of heads/polyps. Hair algae and aiptasia. I wouldn’t have bought these. They ended up refunding all but the sh, but still wasn’t great experience and I spent 40-50$ on trash coral

corals of eden is a great seller. I have a very high end coral of theirs, COE Ring Of Fire Lobo. They were very professional start to finish. I am not aware of their minimum ship policy.

Also got these 2 lepto (on overflow wall) from them for 6$ each. The plug was chunky and fully encrusted and I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitly vouch for COE. Corals matched pictures very closely and they had good communication, and I was happy with my orders

Glad to know someone else had the same experience! Corals of eden pulled something similar since I only bided on one coral and won it for like 7 dollars. Seemed like They were mad it didnt go for more and were trying to get me to bid on their other corals but the bid was really high so I had them refund me since they didnt wanna ship one coral. Like I would pay for the shipping and box and stuff and explained their other stuff was out of my price range (since I was just starting corals!) and that didnt go over well I guess lol. No worries, I just buy corals exclusively from hellfire frags now. Great vendor!

Growing out my ring of fire, hoping it to grow to this one day

I’m getting close! These are 3” and mine is over 2, starting to take on the irregular shape, the yellow ring also developed for me. A cool piece for sure!

lol just realized the going rate for this is $1000 a inch

So you’ve heard means nothing. I actually bought a fish from him and it was a great experience.
"so I've heard" as in,
people describing their experiences with him, just as you've done here.
(I won't reply any further on this thread, though, so as not to get in OP's way any further.)

2021 thread?

I am going to simply repeat this...

People's expectations regarding receiving a NON DOA and HEALTHY and DISEASE FREE fish that was:

-Collected under duress, often with chemicals, stun devices, or drag nets... That likely does have disease and parasites

-tossed in dirty holding bins tanks, with more disease and parasites

-handled roughly then bagged and shipped, often spending time on loading docks with temp swings and loud industrial noises and vibrations and handling that doesn't give two hoots what is in the boxes...

-dumped again into small QT tanks, sometimes crowded

-QT'd with our without meds that may cause more stress...

-netted and bagged again

-tossed in a box and jostled, thrown, dropped, and shaken in another hellish 24+ hour dark bag... This is several more bumpy rough truck rides, at least 1 airplane, but often 2-3, (pressure changes) and at least 2 more truck rides, if not 3 or 4. Conveyor belts, noises. etc. Temp swings, all while swimming in their own waste.

...Are insanely out of whack with reality. You are lucky to get ANY fish alive, let alone healthy enough to make it through the next 24 hours. QT can help but can't fix everything and the stress of all of the above can/does leave the fish (every one of them) in a bad state from stress, physical abuse, chemical and biological deficiencies. It is trauma and results in all kinds of issue and certainly compromised immune response.

There are good vendors and bad vendors for sure. You can typically tell by their guarantee and they way they handle claims.

Dr. Reef goes out of his way to make things right. Why would he cut corners purposefully, ship unhealthy fish, etc. if he was the one losing money having to replace them? Scam operations and those with "have a nice life, it's on you, not us" benefit from that crap... but Dr. Reef and others do not because they have to (and do) make things right.

Reset your expectations folks and apply some logic. There are good and bad vendors, it is not overly hard to sort it out.

Are we going to take bets on this incident?

1.No Package or 2, Package today!
3.Live fish (n=3) 4. Live and dead fish, or 5. all dead fish.

Lots of possible outcomes, hoping for 2,3 sweep but the odds are less than 33% for that card hitting, imo.

I’m betting 2 and 4. Would love for there to be live fish and then he wins the dispute.
