I know I sound like a broken record, but eBay doesn't really care 99.999% of the time. They don't like to run sellers off. If the seller completes a transaction outside of eBay, then eBay is not on the hook for the arbitration or the chargeback, etc.
Correct, but me threatening this same store to get ebay involved when they wouldnt issue a refund got them to issue a refund! Scared the living daylights out of them, they straight up begged me not to contact ebay! And true about the chargeback, but they expressly forbid any info to buy off the site be shared, so if OP as messages showing them that then they will get involved cause they will have not gotten a cut out of the sale :) one thing you can count on with ebay is them being salty they didnt get a cut!

Dr Reef used to be amazing, but from what I've heard, his quality has gone way down. Issues with poorly shipped fish, fish arriving with disease, that sort of thing. I'd go elsewhere.

So you’ve heard means nothing. I actually bought a fish from him and it was a great experience.
sorry, but ive done several orders from him in the last several months and he was fantastic! only place i plan on ordering from when i need fish

Hey man I’ve ordered over 5k of fish from him at this point. His fish are top notch and so is his service. Things happen but that is expected in shipping delicate fish.

Another thing, Dr. Reef has such incredible service that when my fish got ich he checked up on me offered to replace all fish if it was his fault (it wasn’t I ordered from another company) he then treated all my fish free of charge. This is unheard of in regard to customer service. Mike went as far to send me boxes, bags for the fish, and a prepaid shipping label.

The company name is exotic marine life. It's not exotic. I got 3 "premium butterflys" 4 lyrtail anthias. 1 goby 3 cleaner shrimp 2 skunk cleaners 1 emerald. Part of that is because my last order partly died due to a new tank and shipping stress. 281 including shipping.
They use photos from liveaqauria .com

Oh wow youre right! Yeah this is literally the worst Ebay store. Except for aquasd and corals of eden, both of them are scams too or just flat out refuse to ship orders until you keep buying from them to whatever imaginary number they want before they ship. Awful stores all 3 of them.

What are you on? I have nothing but good things to say about AquaSD and I have spent THOUSANDS with them.

Mentioned above - already. A "Debit Card" is like a cash or check. Once the transaction is made, it can't be cancelled or taken back . You have no recourse, you are out the money if the vendor is a scammer or refuses a refund. Your only course of action would be a lawsuit and that will cost you magnitudes more than you lost, even if you could figure out who and where to file the suit against.

Not entirely true. USAA offers excellent protection on my debit card. I've used it for several hundred dollar charge backs or disputes with zero issue.

But overall I agree and use my Amex for 99.9% of my purchases.

Huh? A friend and I just ordered almost $3000 in fish and had a very good experience. As good as you could get with shipping live creatures.

Wait if it does come alive what do I do? I don't want to spend any more time or money on this company. Should I just take the fish and keep the disputes going? I'm not going to let the fish die by just shipping them back but at this point I want to buy from reef buties.

Low chance there is fish coming, if they sold fish, they would have sold you them through eBay. Why would they direct you to their website? There’s no reason to except to scam you.

I bet you can’t find one legit person on here that has ordered from them.

I'm just trying to prepare for anything. I just want to sit by a reef tank that looks like this. It's so nice to watch them eat.

The fact there is 7 pages with everyone universally saying it's a scam and the op is still questioning, is the site real.

Insanity.

Why would they direct you to their website?
The primary reason is that eBay, Amazon, and most auction sites charge a commission of 15% or more, taken directly from the total transaction, including shipping charges. By directing sales off-site, one can avoid these fees, it also simplifies the process for scammers.

Is that it? Cuz if so, that looks pretty cool and unique! Like the freshwater style of it!
Ya it's a 125. I used lava rock. 1 of the lights power supply died today. Thank you, it's right next to my reef tank so it will be cool to look at once it's stocked. I plan on moving all those freshwater fish out and buying 150 neon tetras and adding them it. The amount of movement would be crazy.

No I have gotten fish from them before though. People are ignoring that part. I also got a confirmation from shop of the package being shipped. I also already filed with my bank and pay pal. I just don't know what I should do when the fish arrive. That's all.
