Has anyone ran the AB+ with the XHO K26 12" ReefBrite Actinics? Obviously the Reef Brites are putting out some additional PAR (they claim it's compatible to a T5). I really want to adjust my K7 to the AB+ schedule but don't want to toast my corals.

For full coverage, for 36” light to sandbed, for 24” light to sandbed, multiply all numbers by 2/3.
Adjust as nessairy
Hi, I know it's an old post, thank you very much, it helps me figure out how to set the light to look like AB+

But I'm really curious. I don't know if I read it right or wrong, but what I see on this schedule is that it gives a photoperiod of about 19 hours, right? If it is, then is it okay for the corals?

I hope anyone who has used this setting for quite some time could chime in on this.

Thank you!

I don't use that preset but would agree that a 19 hour photoperiod is excessive. But, to each their own and maybe that individual has a reason for doing so.

I find a 12 hour photoperiod to be sufficient, and I split mine between full spectrum and then RB, B, and V later in the day. On my two SPS tanks, I start the photoperiod at 10am, ramp up to max programmed full spectrum intensity by 11am, stay constant for 5 hours until 3pm, then ramp down W, R, G channels and ramp up RB, B, and UV by 4pm, then run RB, B, and UV until 9pm, then ramp down to 0% by 10pm. I like this configuration as my corals get both full and blue spectrums within the day, and I get to experience the tank in multiple colors.

Here's what my preset looks like for my K7 Pro V3 over my smaller SPS tank:

I see, thanks! this helps much more... I just have a couple more questions if you don't mind

Can I have a look at your tank on each period? What type of tank do run this setting on (soft/lps/sps/mix) and how is it going for your corals so far?

I run K7 Pro V3s over both my SPS and LPS tanks. Both have done very well once dialed in with the PAR meter.

Here’s the SPS tank, just getting started again after consolidating most of the SPS into my 40 gallon tank:

Full Spectrum:

Blues:

LPS tank, which uses the LPS preset on lower intensity:

do you mind sharing the distance from light to sand bed on your LPs? I am trying to calibrate pro III over 29g LPS and also using LPS preset on less (half, proportionately) wattage

I run the standard LPS preset at a lower intensity. Distance from bottom of light to top of sand is 23" and I am getting 80 PAR at the sandbed.
