New to reef tanks

Ok hello all never had a reef tank. Bought a 120g 4x2x2 feet with a stimulus check during covid. My question is I have acquired an old Hamilton technologies vho system. Two four foot 110 watt tubes is this sufficient for a tank this deep with soft coral and zoanthids? Also what color and or spectrum? One more thing I've heard one can convert the ballast to power t5s. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome. I’d be careful modifying any ballast for a use it was not intended for. How old are the bulbs? They would probably be fine for softies. I don’t have much experience with the old vho stuff. Pretty old school.

Bulbs are still available. Possibly not for much longer. But still a fair selection out there if I look hard. 10000k daylight, actinic blues purples etc.
