Hey all! I've been following the site whilst researching how, and what, exactly I wanted to invest in. My main goal is to care for anemones and euphyllia. Eventually adding a mated pair of Clarkii. However, I am on an extreme budget since I'm a starving artist. This forum is very educational, and I'm very happy to be a part of the community, officially.
Welcome to Reef2Reef! Anemones are probably my favorite thing ever. Good luck, and don't forget to start your build thread! The link is in my signature on how to do that. :)

Hello CrashTestBennie and Welcome to R2R! The hobby can be expensive and you probably should by used. Try some advertisement on this site or something like craigslist. Good luck!
Thanks! Yeah, I finally ordered all my gear, except for lighting, which I expect to fork out another $300, at least. So far, $800+ for stand, 25g IM lagoon, sand, couple heaters, wave maker, smart strip, etc. I'm expecting to drop $1500 on livestock. But, my tank has to cycle, and it won't arrive until Thursday. Needless to say, I'm pretty darn excited. I've gotten 3 hours of sleep since Wednesday.

I appreciate the advice!

Take care,
Ben

Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!!!
Thank you! The obsession is quick and deep with reefing...I didn't know what treasure I had invested in, and my tank hasn't even been delivered yet! I can hardly get sleep. How in the world am I going to make it through a cycle?!?

Well, I officially finished my research and ordered a bunch of stuff for my first reef tank. Innovative Marine's 25g aio nuvo fusion lagoon. I chose this because it was the smallest thing I can ethically put a juvenile haddoni in. I figure I'll have something much larger after 3 years anyhow. I went with redundancy and spent a little over $800, and haven't even purchased my led yet. I know that's gonna cost. Then in a few months it'll be $1500 on a Carpet, mated pair of A. Polymnus, lots of inverts, and either a hammer or Duncan next to the carpet, on the one live rock feature. I'm so excited I can barely sleep at night! What do you guys think?
