So glad you got your new tank, it's beautiful.
Plumbing guys, this is where I'd like your opinions. Is this good for the bean animal? From right to left: emergency, durso/herbie, full siphon. I used unions on both ends and put the ball valve on so I could terminate flow without needing to readjust the gate valve. If there's a valve or fitting I need to look in to, please let me know. I want my plumbing to be as nice as the rest of my tank.
Thank you. Looking forward to having it going. So glad you got your new tank, it's beautiful.
I have a 3/4" Sea Swirl. I'll put a check valve, couple unions, ball valve for pressure, and a manifold for reactors.looks good! What are you doing for your return lines?
That was a question I asked that I never got answered. I think the gate valve will help you adjust the drain flow precisely and the ball valve on my return lets me put more or less flow back in the tank. I used 1" pipe and I've seen people say there isn't enough space inside to keep a column of air all of the time. I'm going to take that chance though because bigger pipe is bigger money haha. At the very least, you could make the full siphon 1 1/2" pipe. The other two won't deal with too much water anyway. One other thing I'll point out, that I saw elsewhere, is my emergency drain uses 90 elbows that should make gurgling/splashing if it comes into use. That way I hear somethings up.Awesome setup bud....question , looking into a 60 cube as well, what size drains and returns are u using, do u think it would be too much if i use 1.5 on all three drains bean animal? im really liking your plumbing congratz can't wait to see the rest of your build!
