Turn tank temp to 81 then wait 45 days before adding any fish as precaution, any one of those fish could have had disease.

would it even help to use API general cure and go fallow for 45 days?

No, I would not put any medications in there. There is no reason to. The Fallow is all you need and the meds may just have a negative effect on the healthy biome of the rock.

As others have mentioned you need to leave the tank empty for 45 days at minimum to starve out the disease.

Do not dose API general cure. It is not Reef safe and will kill your corals and inverts. There is unfortunately no Reefsafe medications to sterilize your tank other than waiting 45 days to starve the disease.

This is why it is absolutely imperative that you quarantine any new fish in copper/cupramime in a separate tank or just buy them pre quarantined.

The same goes for corals and inverts (shrimp, snails). They must be housed in seperate tanks for 45 days before adding them to your display tank. (You can’t treat them in copper)

Good luck! :)
