my first tank is a 110 gallon tall. It was originally set up 6-8 years ago for about 4 years, when our a/c died and the tank crashed losing all fish I chose to leave it empty of livestock, leave filtration and bubblers running and let it cycle an sit. This past summer I decided to restock it after my granddaughter showed an interest in the fish. lesson learned, a tank can sit and be awesome water, bios ect but you must stir the sand well before restocking or your nitrates go balistic when snails and sandsifters start to dig..
During my weekend breakdown I set up a 40gallon that was sitting in garage, I used sand from the 110, and about 5 gallons of the water basically transfering the bio from one tank to the other.
Yesterday I bought new lighting for the 40 (amazing led set up at BSL) which I plan to replace the 110 lighting to led asap and purchased quite a few new babies..
In 110 we have vleminigi tang, 2 purple firefish, 1 red firefish, 6 -8green chromis/lemonpeel (i cant tell em apart), 1 diamond goby, 1 mandarin goby, a variety of snails and crabs, red starfish, foxface rabbit, 6 honey chromis
(gorgeous pops of color) and a yellow wrasse who has been in hiding since entry... as for corals ; yellow brain, furry mushroom, green spike plate, various zoa's, orange sponge tree, 2 different flower pots, frogspawn, hammer, grassy star type, 3 diff anemones, various mushrooms, another grassy flowery type, branching bubble, polyps, hollywood stunner, acons, cabbage, duncan, various potato chips, leather toadstool and cancycanes.
in the 40 ; 1 clarkii, 2 cinnamon clown, 1 6 lin wrasse, 1 diamond goby, 1 watchman goby and a pom pom that i will probably never see again lol, the corals include, various zoas, various mushroom, 1 flowerpot(think he has bout bought it) maroon brain, furry mushroom, tiny pink carnation on verge of byby, a branchlike one i dont know name of, polyps. as well as 3 anemones 2 of which are smaller than a dime and i think had it too..
